Hi All
Just calling in to send apologies to you all for not being around or sending hugs lately and hope you will forgive me. The return to work after my decent Christmas break was harder than ever this year and the black dog is snarling. Both part time jobs are a bit grim, one too busy as we have taken over another company and one not busy enough. Am not sure if the bookshop will survive the His Masters Voice cull which they own.
As a result of which the hip is screaming daily though the doc may have been right to suspect it is a muscle spasm as the Valium is taking the edge of the things that arther throws, but am not sure it is a good idea to take too many on top of the maxed out dose of other AD's I am already on. but the doc knows best, or does she? I hardly care at the moment.
And just to add to the lovely time I am having my brother in law is from Tunisia and is worried frantic about numerous family still living there. Though thankfully we heard yesterday that the brother and his family who has a hotel in Tunis, wisely fled to the countryside when they started smashing the windows.. I do hope no one has family on holiday stranded there and that they all get home soon.
Sorry to be a whinge, just needed to get this down as it looks like another long night here. Hang in there folks and I hope I can find my way out of this hole soon. I send hugs to those who need them, I know sadly there are alot of you out there. (((( ))))

Cris, so sorry things are so very tough for you at the moment. You know I haven't forgotten you whatever is going on here but I confess I have been too spaced out and not kept up with your thread. Will see the doc again soon I promise and hope to get another referral to the nice Consultant. You hang in there flower. (((( ))))
Tony hope you feeling better after your injections a while back. It is always nice to see your posts which keep us smiling.
Debs hope things are okish for you too, bless you all for answering my cry for help. This forum really does make me feel less alone. Sleep well all if you can.

Hi Chris,

Try and get him to see you cus the last one was rubbish and you need it sorted especially as you had sort of made up your mind.
Hope work went okish.... I know it couldn't but hang in there flower. ((((( ))))) and love Cris xxxx oh pass my love on to Lynn please/0 -
Morning Chris7, I think quite a few of us are in our various pits at the moment. January is a long, tough month (it's worse than November, in my opinion) and I think that quite a few of us are feeling the after-effects of Christmas/New Year/recession/flaming arthritis/all or none of the above - you are not alone in that. Is the Lynn to whom you refer collywobble? I was thinking only this morning that I hadn't seen her about on the forum for a while: please send her my best wishes, I hope she comes back soon, she always makes me smile. As for you, well, we need to get that hip sorted, the dog evicted and some job-security, all much much easier said than done. I reckon they are all roughly equal on direness, yes? Where does one start? I have no idea, too busy fighting my daemons at the mo, sorry. Only another 13 days of this vile month to go, then hopefully things will brighten: the days are gradually drawing out, which is always a step in the right direction! You know where we are if you need us. Take care, keep as well as you can, keep in touch if you can. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

So pleased to hear from you Chris but sorry so much bad stuff is happening at this point in time. Tunisia is a very frightening situation with mob rule so lets hope order is restored asap.
I know you are very worried about your hip and how could you cope after the op. It is a load of stress for you and can't be helping you deal with the pain.Work must tire you out on top of the fatigue associated with arther. I wish there was something I could do to help. And Lynn too, I have been so worried about you and not seen you on here for ages but thought it was computer issues.
My love to you and take each day at a time.

Hi Chris
Good to see you - even if you are not having a great time at the mo  well alright then it's pretty shift.
Looks like the docs were right then? Glad the GP is helping and take the meds if the doc says it's ok - your pain is priority.
Work being har won't be helping will it? How soon will you find out whether the bookshop will survive? I do so hope it does, but think you are right and it might not
I reckon it's good that your family out in Tunis are safe and well - my goodness that is the best news ever.
The black dog is liekly to be around at the mo - think he is scratching the back door here too, but I wont let him in! This is a bad bad time of year isn't it?
Missed your posts.
Love

Hi Chris
Firstly.... no apologies necessary. Quite a few of us have tumbled into the pit recently and those that are now restored (thanks to the love and support on this forum) want to return the favour and support you in any way we can.
You've had these struggles with work and your hip for a long time Chris... no wonder you're so worn out  and then to have the added worry of extended family in Tunisia.. :???: thank goodness the word is that they are safe.!
I'm glad the doc is helping you keep a lid on the pain... even if it doesn't quite do the job. :???: and it may be that decisions are looming for you about having that op.
Whatever happens, we'll be with you Chris. Just please keep letting us know how you are....
(((hugs))))

Hello my love
Its good to see you although not under the circumstances, I did email you, I hope you got it,I was worried about you and your sister, now your poor brother-in-law has all this worry.
Chris like alot of people have said, this time of the year is horrible, and when you are in pain, well you know the rest.
If you need to email me and have a moan or a rant you know where I am, you do the same for me.
Sending you loads of hugs (((((((()))))) and love

Hi Chris,
Please don’t worry about not being able to post we all have our down times.
I am not surprised that you are having so much trouble with your hips the snow and ice will not have done you any favours. I cannot comment on the valium with the other meds but if you are too spaced out it might be best to have a word with Doctor to see if a slightly reduced dose would be better for you.
It is all very worrying what is going on in Tunisia but I am glad the family has managed to get to a safer area. I am afraid these frightening events take a lot of time to sort themselves out but they do settle down and the country side population usually make the first moves to normality.
I hope tomorrow is not too hard for you and hopefully you can get in touch with your GP even if it is over the phone and get some advise as what to do about the medication.
Thinking of you Chris,
Many gentle hugs and a bucket full of fortitude coming your way,

Hi you lovely people, Cris, DD, Elizabeth, Toni, Iris, Barabara, Ironic.
Well I survived another week at Wonkas but only just. Will be posting on WM cos I am fuming at them today but I think that might mean I am feeling a tad better as weird as that sounds! :???:
Thanks for the support and good wishes when I know you are all dealing with your own demons.
I have passed on the good wishes to Lynn, yes Collywobble indeed DD. She too has been having a rough time lately but appreciated all your thoughts.
Have been trying to catch up a bit with your news elsewhere.
Good luck with the steroid diet DD, and hope the unicycle still pedalling? You summed up my situation exactly but am never sure which problem I need to tackle first here since things are like a pack of cards about to collapse at any given moment.
Iris glad you are feeling a little less frazzled and do hope the red thingy!!! goes well, bless you for your kind words.
Barbara I have finally replied to your email  but not sure if you got it we may still be having problems. Send me a pm if not and I will post it there instead.
Cris do hope today was an ok one and not too tough, you know I haven't forgotten you. I send hugs and a decent cuppa (((( )))
Very many thanks to you all on this thread. I, and the hip are so relieved not to have to slog to work for a day or two. The folks in Tunisia still all ok thank goodness and I am hoping for a better day tomorrow.
Hugs to you all. ((( )))

Hi Chris, good to hear from you.
If the valium is helping and it is a muscle spasm - then definitely take it. It is usually only for short term and once the muscles stops spasming you wont need the valium any more. Always best to nip spasming in the bud!
Drag some people in off the street to make the bookshop look a bit busier!!
Good you are having a good time with BIL, lucky his family fled in time. How scary for them.
Take care,
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
HI CHris
good to see you posting and as others have said no apologies are needed
I hope things improve in so many ways for you, and in the meantime keep taking the tabletsand know that we are thinking of you
