hi folks, I know some of you are aware of the problems I've been having with my hands and wrists and my confusing rheumy appointment the other day..
Well I wondered if anyone could shine any light on the unusual lumps I have on the palms of both hands.. And no rude comments folks.. Lol
If you flex you hands open you can see the tendons or muscles at the base of each finger.. Well mine are all swollen.. Like big lumps, even when I don't flex my hands, and they're slightly swollen on the opposing sides in a couple of places, feels tight, it's hard to describe, just wondered if anyone had any ideas.. If I do have ra it's all new to me, I'm an oa old timer and never suffered any swelling problems (again, no comments thank you! Lol) before..

Thanks folks...

    Hi Toni..

    Did your doc notice these???
    Could they be nodules??

Thanks girls... They actually sting, it's weird to describe, maybe it could be something to do with the tendons, I am no expert when it comes to hand problems, give me knees and spines, lol....

I wonder if this is a problem associated with carpel tunnel, would be interesting to find out as that is what the doc is doing the nerve thing to check for.. Mmmm, might have a quick butchers round the t'interwebby..

there are three distinct lumps at the base of the fingers, one between the index and middle, then one between middle and ring finger and then the last between ring and little finger, I know that it is normal to be able to see your tendons ( I assume that's what they are) but I don't think mine look quite normal.. Lol
I will have a look at reynauds... BRB

I'm pretty sure it's not reynuads... Fingers don't go white, do have a lot of pins and needles though...

Maybe a trip to the quacks is needed eh?

    Hi Tony,

he should have noticed! I wonder if its worth running it past your gp?

The tendons are in that area but you might have carpal tunnel and that would account for the pins and needles as well......

Wish they would hurry up and sort it out for you. Hang in there and do your hands go blue or deep purple? Cris x

    Hi Tony,

You sleep well too but this one I still think is best run past your gp....

It could all be connected to the carpal tunnel but could also be tendinitis in fact quite a few things and well best get it looked at i think.....

till can't believe the rumo failed to notice! Hope you get a good night. Cris x
