First Rituxamab on Thursday and anxious

Having failed on everything to date, including Humiera and Embrel, I go into hospital on Thursday for my first Rituximab infusion.

As the time approaches I find I'm getting quite anxious, facing the unknown I suppose. I've read of others on here having Rituximab - did it work, if so for how long?

Do hope someone can help reassure me!

Thanks
Mollie

    hi Mollie,

I can't help you with the having it but just wanted to say that's its not surprising you are feeling anxious flower. I really hope it goes well and we are good at pocket duties if you would like that?

Fingers crossed its a good infusion and will work for you. Cris x

I can't help either, sorry. I am on my third and final anti TNF and I (pointlessly) wish the results were better - they are not the drugs everyone promises, not by a long shot. If you find one that works then one is indeed very lucky. I wish you well, don't raise your hopes too high and let us know how you get on, please. DD

    Hi Mollie,
Of course you are getting anxious, who wouldn’t be.
Hopefully someone will be on the forum later who will be able to reassure you.
Try and keep yourself busy until Thursday and if you need us for pockets duties just shout.
    Fingers crossed for you,

    Hello Mollie

I just want to wish you "good luck" for Thursday and to say I will be thinking of you. Rituximab is potentially my next option (having previously been allergic to Infliximab and Humira) so I will be interested to hear how it goes. I really do hope it helps you.

Thank you so much to everyone who replied to my pathetic cry for help!

It will help so much knowing there are so many careing people out here, each suffering their own problems, but with time to help someone else.

I'm still very anxious and have not slept well for ages, as I have a very sick daughter to worry about, which increases my anxiety.

I'll be up early tomorrow, need to be on my way by 7.30 to make the 8.30 appointment (Bristol comuter traffic). Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who says he's staying with me - and it could be a long day!

I'll let you know how things go - bless you all for your best wishes
