Human Resources is not for the employee but for the firm to manage it's workforce, it will never be in our favour, we are just 'resources'. Their manner could be a defense or their lack of humanity?
There was an awful lot of jealousy amongst other staff when they found out I was getting the golden ticket of early retirement. The thought of pain and suffering do not come into it. Most lacked any understanding.0 -
i work for a small firm on the whole they quite good about it but then also do not tell them half the pain i am in either i would not want to employ me some days wonder if small buisness or large impersonal better for this lol valval0

My work has been the same as all of yours, really. Useless HR departments, useless managers (after my last period of sickness, I had to correct my manager when he cited the reason I was off was because I had ezcema).
I don't bother giving explanations to anyone anymore about why I have slightly different equipment to everyone else, why I attend Occy Health appts, why I use my laptop at meetings and not write in a notebook. I know the employment and disability policies inside out, know I'm covered and it's nobody else's business.

Wow, all my colleagues and managers have been really suportive, the time I have had off has never been an issue and specialised equiptment was offered before I even asked for it.
It make me realise how lucky I have been compaired with some of the stories I have heard. Mind you I would still leave tomorrow if I could afford to, where is the lottery when you need it.0
