Well at last.....after numerous phone calls to his secretary and some nagging  I've eventually got an appointment to see this gallbladder consultant about the results of my CT scan. Monday 4.30pm
When I rang his secretary last Monday she said the results wern't in but later on {after I asked her to chase them up} She said the doc had already seen them and was going to talk to his x ray buddies the next day.....(Tuesday)....So today when I still hadnt heard i rang again. His secretary was on holiday and the girl I spoke to said "I've just asked appointments to send a letter to you...an appt on Monday. Then she said....all our mail goes 2nd class so i doubt that you'll get the letter before then"  but please come anyway. So if I hadnt rung today and no letter had arrived on Monday and I hadnt gone....no doubt it would have been me at fault for missing an appointment. Oh well .....never mind...we'll see what he says this time or who he refers me to next
Thanks for all the support from everyone when I had so many appointments one after the other.
Love
Hileena

Aw Hileena, I cannot believe all the chasing up you have had to do. Perhaps you should ask them if you can work there. It would be a hundred times more efficiently run.

Please do not stand for any nonsense when you turn up and if they dare to say something like, you are not on the list today. I am sure you would not. I hope you have the name of this person you spoke to today and heard verbally when your appointment is.

I do hope that you have a good weekend and wish you all the very best with your appointment next week.

    Love

Well done, Hileena! I must say I had been thinking that you hadn't had a hospital appt of one sort or another for....a week or two? Ages by your current standards! I hope all goes well. I shall be thinking of you.

    Hi Hileena,
Good for you for persisting with getting the appointment. I wonder how many have been left by the wayside with their strange system.

I will be thinking of you on Monday and I do hope there is no more messing about for you this time.

    Hi I
It would be lovely if there was no more messing about.
The GP said the other day......your fractured pelvis and fractured SI joint seem to have cleared.....I said yes. She took me off the mnorphine I was on for that.
She then asked about the results of the CT scan....I said I hadnt a clue so she had said get on and pressure them although everything might have cleared now but you need an appointment to know that.....wouldnt that be great.....
.Of course thats not counting the arthur, scoliosis or epilepsy  but if all this messing about was sorted i would be happy. Then would pressure her to send me to a pain clinic. Paracetamol and slow release naproxam isnt enough for the pain.....I need something to fall back on if I'm really sore.

    Hi Hileena,
How are you feeling without the morphine meds? I am pleased that the factures seem to be healed for you that was so scary for you on top of everything else. What a year it has been for you. Fingers crossed that tomorrow has some good news. Do you think your doctor would refer you to the pain clinic all things being equal?? I do hope so.

    Gentle hugs,

    Hi I,
I'm not sure how i feel without the morphine.....its been a week now and for the past 3 days I've been much sorer than normal. Dont know if thats coincidence??
I'm on paracetamol and naproxen slow release 2 a day. I was on diclofenic...slow release 2 a day when i started with this doc and she changed it. Normally you would know which tablet was better for you but it was shortly after that that I was put on the morphine....which I needed at that time so its hard to tell....are they not working as well for me as the diclofenic?? I did ask her at the time why she was changing them.....now that surprise you doesnt it......timid little me asking questions :lol::lol: She said they were much the same but nap was better for your heart than diclo.??
As for the pain clinic....she did say she would refer me to one for the "old" pain {arthur} once we got this lot sorted. So with a little bit of luck he might say...cant find anything and that will be that???? Optimist
I have to see her {GP} on Fri for the results of a blood test.....have been on iron for 3 months and she think I should be OK now so had a blood test done and see her next Fri so I'll fire all the questions about pain clinic painkillers anti inflamms etc at her. then
    Sorry for the essay

    Morning all
The postman has been and gone.....lots of mail.....most of it bumph
but no letter from the hospital saying i have an appointment today
Did I really expect it?? Not really
Isnt it typical......so it does pay to nag them....at least you find out they have made an appt for you even if you have no confirmation

    Hi Hileena,

Well I hope all is going well for you today and hopefully your appointment is on time.
I remember you did do very well on the diclos so that is a shame that she has changed them. I hope the iron tables have done the trick and you can at least come off those. Yes do ask her again about returning to the diclos if things have not improved by then.

Hope your evening is a better one tonight.

    Hi Everyone
Well thanks for all your support.....when I went in to see the doc....his first words the first time i saw him were "I dont know why they sent you to me"...wonderful....Today the first words were....."well I thought i should talk to you face to face and not by letter".......my stomach did about half a dozen flip flops. Up until now I hadnt thought about anything serious.....just a blinkin nuisance going from opne to the other and from scan to scan etc
So he started at the beginning.....he then ended with "well we know all the things that aren't wrong.....your bile duct is slightly wider at the top than normal but I've checked back to 2003 and you had some similar tests and it was exactly the same. If anything your liver tests are getting better so I think we'll leave it for about 3 months and I'll see you again but if you have any symptoms call my secretary and I'll see you right away..if not you'll get an appt in 3 to 3 and a half months You came to me for an ERCP but i still dont feel justified in doing it"
So that was it....thank goodness......not exactly discharged but looks as if that is the end of it
    Love

    Hi Scozzie, Tracy and Cris
Thanks.....I'm happy enough....after I got over the initial shock of him wanting to speak to me face to face  That sounded as if he was going to tell me something very serious :???:
After the amount of consultants and scans I'll take that as a good result.
I know he wants to see me again in 3 to 4 months time......but thats OK doesnt sound as if anything more is going to be done.
I'll concentrate on the GP getting me to a pain clinic now or else changing my meds herself for the arthur.
Cris pet.....no I'm not feeling sick these days and my appetite is back. Still not keen on spicey food and I used to love it but thats nothing  What about you? You arent supposed to be on posting  Just reading!!!!! Thanks for the tea...hope there's no sugar in it this time
