Time v AC Time

Can anyone explain why the AC clock is never right? I can just about understand it sometimes being an hour out, depending on BST, but why the minutes? They are gradually getting further and further out of sync. My computer currently tells me it's 11.01 but the AC website says it's 10.14. :?

I am afraid. I am very afraid. I might fall into the black hole of in-between time.

By the way, did you write your post yesterday or tomorrow, rehab?

Hi SW Have you changed the time to Summer Time/DST is in effect in your Board Preferences ? If you tick 'yes' then the time should be the same. Have you got western European time GMT as your prefered time zone ?

rehab – I’m deeply offended that you should think I might be easily offended

thewifie – Oh dear! Thanks to you I’ve now discovered all the different time zones I might be in. Can someone explain why Lord Howe has a Standard Time? I think those of us on cocos should opt for Cocos Islands Time. And why can we opt for Cymraeg or Francais Standard when we’re only allowed to write English?

I think I’ve dropped into the black hole. I shall, from now on, speak Francais and I’m on Niue Time.

By the way, AC’s still ¼ hour ahead of me.

    Hi SW.
I believe that you are in fact on Yorkshire time, aka Ecky thump time. The county is that wonderful it's out of sync with everywhere else, and if the other time zones were to attempt to sync with us there would be an implosion so great that even Ra wouldn't be able to stop it.
On a good note, everyone would speak proper, lol...

You could kind of understand it if it was slow rather than fast. That would be appropriate. Maybe it needs surgery.

I tend to ignore the time on here, as it's always wrong. What I like, is the bit at the bottom of the page, where it says "who is on line". When it says "Numpty Dumpty and 18 guests," I imagine I'm having a party!
    Everyone's welcome, bring a bottle.

What is a closet 'sweaty'? Having been known as Sweaty Betty for a few years (thanks to middle-age and the meds) is it along those lines? I suspect not.

The AC clock has baffled me for a while now, so I tend to ignore it - I have enough bafflement in my life. I'm on DD time, which tends to fit in with the rest of the world (apart from the odd occasions when I fall asleep at 'inappropriate' times) and that suits me, and those around me. Good Grief Penfold. I never knew that.

My mate Mick used to make up his own rhyming slang - butter was 'president' after 'President Botha', (I know, I know, I'm sorry) but my favourite was 'desperate', viz Desperate Dan = a can (usually of lager). Even now Mr DD and me discuss the possibility of a curry and a few desperates. DD

    Reeesult!

Thank you to whoever 'mended' the AC clock. I don't know how long it's been right  (well, one minute out according to my computer but we won't count that) but I've only just noticed it.

    Much appreciated.
