Hi all I've just had word from the bunkers part time astronomer and bar tender fat Kev that there's the mother of all comets coming this way, kev says it going to be up to a magnatude of -16 which means it's going to be much brighter than a full moon, it's going to get to us by late 2013 so I'll keep you all updated as much as I can but it should be an amazing sight. Oh yeah the comets name or ident is C/2012 S1 and it will be here November 2013.

As you can tell, I get very excited about these things and then usually, on the night it might happen, it's really cloudy or foggy or something near me and I see nothing...can I book a clear night now please? Thanks for letting us know Mell! Hope the rats are behaving, I'm still having moments of ewwwww about your rats tales! :D

    Well I wouldn't worry L V it's meant to be around for some time and it should be so bright you'll be able to see it at some point, I hope it's going to be a bright as they say I've always wanted to see a real massive comet it's one of my bucket list to do's!.

    Oh how interesting..my GD has just acquired a telescope..mind you suppose we wont need it if its that big..dont forget to let us know when its due.

    I remember Halley's Comet too! I was quite young and stood out in the cold with my dad to watch it! I hope it is big and bright and here for a few days!

    If the news about the comet was broken by Fat Kev, are you sure he wasn't talking about the 7th Egg of Destiny which used to sit on the bar of the Cane and Able :?: No-one knows where it's gone now, so it could be hurtling around in space for all we know :shock:

    Is that the one which will pass by closer than the moon? Hope someone reminds me. I'll have forgotten about it by tomorrow morning. :lol:

    only got to see a few shoots of the meteor shower so this is exciting...

    Don't worry you lot you won't be able to miss this thing it's predicted to have a magnatude of -15 so it will. or should be much brighter than a full moon.
