New Year smilie

While looking at smilies for the New Year, I noticed this one:

It seems very appropriate for me as I've eaten so much food over Christmas and the New Year celebrations. I was doing so well with healthy eating pre-Christmas, but I can't resist all the mince pies, Christmas pudding etc, not to mention all the boxes of chocolates I've got through recently.
So it's back to the drawing board and start again with eating healthy food from now on.
It's going to take a lot of sessions at the gym to work off all those extra calories I've consumed
Joan, feeling somewhat guilty

Happy New year.
Know what you mean, I've pigged out non stop. I'll go to stand and my legs will collapse with the excess grub. was yummy at the time though.0 -
Happy new year. I was doing quite well with the healthy eating in the run-up to Christmas. Haven't eaten too much over Christmas either as a big dinner usually fills me right up and my daughter, her husband and the 2 babies stayed here in between Christmas and New Year so didn't get much time to over eat. That has meant all the goodies I bought are still here. I started on them last night but it has made me feel a little ill. I am thinking of giving most of it away.Christine0

If any 'damage' has been done it can be undone by returning to our better habits. Christmas is a time for fun and treats but within sensible limits. This year I didn't make or buy a Christmas cake, consumed only five mince pies (not all at the same time) we've had 3/4 of a tub of extra thick cream between us and two spoonsful of brandy butter. Alcohol, however. Somehow we've worked our way through a fair bit (although entertaining friends helped on that front!) Time to ease up on that front, methinks, we're back to the dull times now.

Well, the exercises took a nosedive over Christmas and New Year but normal service is now resumed. Gawd knows what we're going to do with the tin full of mince pies my son brought down. Alcohol will now be reserved for weekends, meals out and meals in with friends. It looks like we'll be socialising a lotIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I bought mince pies and party food in for when my daughter and family were staying but they didn't touch them. I can't eat them as I am intolerant to wheat so I have given them all to my son as well as the fancy biscuits I was bought for Christmas. I've been ill all night so think when I get up, I'll be binning the rest of the chocolate and the cream that is left. And when I feel better, I'll get the exercise equipment set up in the dining room.Christine0

Oooh Joan, I recognise the lady in the pink top. I didn't realise anyone had seen me.
Applerose, I hope you are feeling better now after your rough night and I am sure that those who are on the receiving end of your largesse will be very grateful. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Thank you DD. I do feel better but am still in bed. Might venture downstairs soon.
I was going to offer the extras to my daughter-in-law's parents as I went to their house for dinner yesterday but my son and dil grabbed them. "We'll eat them."Christine0
