Firstly a late happy new year to everyone.
I have been given a date for my gallbladder op which is 29 jan.i have to stop taking humira 14 days before hand so guess no more jabs for me until i have healed .my next jab would be 12 days before op.lets just see how my psa copes without it .it's a more scary thought than the op at the moment.but we have no choose but to carry on riding the rolla coaster .i think I more worried about getting infection afterwards than anything else.
My surgeon is a lovely man as I know him from when my sister was very ill as he was her surgeon to.very down to earth man.he sent a letter to my gp says what a lovely women I was and would he have given me a gold star for losing so much weight.well 8 stone lighter than when I first saw him so I think he will be happy .
I have not been on the boards much as been so unwell with gallbladder playing up.but it's not to bad at the moment.one good thing my psa is ok at the moment.may have to get the crutches out before I start back on jabs but time will tell .at least they will be in the fridge waiting for me when I am ready to take them again.
Bye for now

Hello Milly8, it's good to hear from you again. I am glad you have a date for your op - apparently people wake up feeling an immediate benefit so let's hope that is the case for you, yes?
As regards the humira, it's probably wise to stop it before the op but I would recommend that you have a chat with your rheumatology team about re-starting it post-op, you may not need to be off it for too long which would be a good thing. The best of luck for 29th January - I hope all goes well for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Hi Milly, And I'm sure it will be a happy new year when you have your gall bladder taken out!! That's from someone who knows! ME!! I can tell you the minute I came round from the op I felt so much better!! (The morphine did have a hand in that!
) And you can't really see the scars so you will still look hot in a bikini!!
You get yourself better and back here soon minus your painful gall bladder! Maybe you could have it framed in your place!! Take care Milly ignore crazy bubbadog! I'm just glad to be back on here!!0 -
And a Happy New Year to you, too, Milly8. Having a date always makes things seem more definite and I hope all goes to plan and you have a very successful outcome. You certainly have done your bit by losing all the weight. Well done!
I can’t help re the humira but, if my experiences with methotrexate are anything to go by, you could be in for a pleasant surprise. I’ve found stopping it takes a few weeks to really impact. Being unable to do too much helps on that front
It sounds as if you have a good surgeon in whom you have plenty of confidence and that is good. I wish you all the bestIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi,
Just to add to your good wishes and say that I had it done a few years ago and wow what a difference and also to add you cannot really see the tiny scars but the ' line ' in my tummy button is a bit longer than it was .
Your diet will most likely stay good too as fatty food does not agree anymore -- well not with me anyway .
All the best
Joanna

Gallbladder has heard what's going on and is not happy at the moment but misbehaving will not save it.lol
