Hello Lily. Am so sorry you have had a fall and do hope your pain will ease soon. I have OA in my back and one of my knees and had a fall last year which resulted in a visit to A & E. That was a result of my knee giving way so I do know what you mean.

Take care of yourself and rest as much as you can. Witch Hazel is good for bruises if the skin isn't broken.

Sendjng you some gentle hugs. Beryl (((())))

I know what your going through Lily after my fall, it's so scary when your legs decide to give way because you have no warning. It's one of the things I hate that we have to live with having Arther! Take care and lots of rest is all you can do to recover from it. I'm still not recovered from my fall and I'm still finding bruises that I didn't know where there appearing all over me! I know it's hard but rest and recoup is all you can do and let yourself recover. You will have to watch movies and read it's all I've been doing and telling off naughty kittens!

Thank you so much for the support,

got no sleep last night so very tired today, This is not the first fall and i doubt it will be the last...I cannot put any shoes on today as the foot has been cut quite badly and the shin and knee have scraps on them as that was the first port of call for the fall, im lucky in one aspect as the bottom half of my body took much of the fall, i was really scared incase i had seriously injured my shoulder as im awaiting surgery on that for a tear due to this arthritis,

My left side is coming out black with the bruises and it looks like i have not had a shower in months

The doctor that i saw yesterday said she wished all the patients that come into the a@e had my attitude as when the shock wore off i was laughing about the fall,

Hopefully it will be a very long time before any of us has a fall

    Take care

I recently went an utter purler in a shop, I landed flat on my back on a wooden floor. It was my fault, I hadn't spotted an internal step and I caught it with one of my crutches. It is so easy to fall, we have to keep our wits about us at all times but I guess when a knee suddenly goes you have very little time to react. Do you use a stick or any other form of walking aid? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

DD i cannot use walking aids as my flare ups always start in my hands and to be truthful since i was diganosed my hands have always been swollen and painful, the hands have always been my downfall so to speak,

Ill just have to be ultra careful or even more so than normal.

    Hi Lily
What about a 4 wheel rollator?? DD and I both have them....I'm sure others do as well. I find that the majority of times I can use it with my hands on top of the ...Handles??? or whatever you call them  rather than grip them
    Love
