Hello;
Having a lot of "irritable" hip trouble. It's been going on for 6 weeks now and slowly getting worse. It's truly the joint and x-rays are not very good. Are hip injections easy, or is it a procedure that's scheduled out of the doctor's office? I know that would take a long time to organize where I live. I keep thinking it will settle down but it's not & pain meds not touching it.
I had my wrists injected last year and what a wonderful relief
Thanks for helping, I'm stuck in bed right now and not able to do my usual "puttering" Sigh.........

Hi
When I got both hips done last year I had to have them done with the ultrasound guided injections and this was in the hospital..
So sorry your stuck in bed. I know how that feels.
Hopefully you will be up some point soon and good luck with the injections
Take care

Thank you lily,
I thought it was likely ultrasound-guided. Well, that will take forever here..
I see my doctor this week so will ask what to do. EEK hips are painful!

Hi,
I see my Rheumatologist at a local hospital & she's always injected my hips & lower spine there & then wen I need it. I don't know how it's done else where tho.
Good luck.xHealing Hugs

Hello Boomer
Mine was done under x-ray conditions with a general anaesthetic. When my insurance company queried it, the surgeon spoke to them direct and said he always did his hip injections that way because he needed to know he was putting the needle in the right place and didn't want his patient to move. Everything was good for two splendid weeks, but then the pain came back and I ended up with a THR.

I've never had hips injected but my knees were always done in the hospital. I'd be surprised if GPs did them in their medical centres but, if you live in a particularly rural place, it might be that different rules apply. You can only askIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi
My hip and back injections were done at hospital under x ray so that they could see exactly where the needle was going
Sorry to just repeat what others have said
Love
