I am going away for a few days on Saturday with a very good friend. On Sunday evening my left hand started to be extremely painful and swelling to the extent that my hand looks like a hand of bananas!
I am seriously thinking about cancelling but really do not want to let my friend down. So I sought advice from my consultant's Rheumy nurse and she advised getting blood and urine tests done (tomorrow) and see my Doctor on Thursday in the hope that she will prescribe Prednisone. I had steroids for a month in January when I was diagnosed and they worked so quickly it was quite miraculous.

    I hope the doctor can help you get some relief so you can get away for the weekend so you can see your friend.

    Good luck fortuna. I'm on Pred 40mg at the moment. Hope it works for you as it is doing for me. Hope you have a good weekend.
