Hello , I'm Andrew and this is my first post. I am keen to share my experiences and seek advice. I recently left the NHS after five years as a support worker on a busy hospital ward because the arthritis in my feet and knees resulted in a high level of sick leave. I am interested in working from home and would appreciate any advice or suggestions on suitable options. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Andrew, I am sure you will find support, advice and light relief.

I am one of the moderation team, we all have one or more arthritis conditions or look after family with the same. If you need help with the technicalities of the forum just get in touch via a personal message.

Hello, it's lovely to meet you but I am not sure how we can help. What kind of arthritis do you have, and how old are you? I have two horrid feet in both creaky camps but was lucky to be self-employed as a private tutor specialising in dyslexia - as my diseases progressed I was able to make the best of what I was facing (with the co-operation of my clients) but I gave up around two years ago because it all got too much. I am now 55 but feel far older!

    I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi Andrew, well I'm a relative newbie on here too and have to say everyone has been very supportive and welcoming to me... I'm sure you will treated the same. What kind of arthritis do you have? ... I suffer with OA in my hands, ankle and neck. I do work at the moment but not sure whether I will manage to continue. I'm a housekeeper so my work can be pretty physical and the OT recommends that I re-think... its difficult facing changes isn't it. Having to cope with Arthur is bad enough sometimes!
