I have tried a few joint creams, such as Flexiseq and Aloe heat cream, but nothing appears to give relief. Not really interested in the ones that just supply Ibuprofen to the area

you can get voltarol gel & difflam cream on prescription , difflam works well with soft tissue like muscles pain & bursa of hips , or you can buy both at a chemist
another you could try is Arkopharma Phytorhuma Devil's Claw Gel from Holand & Barrett , but Devil's claw is the active part of Flexiseq & half the price0 -
I see that trepolpen has given you a comprehensive list of things to try; in my pre-arthritis days I was would be poorly, take some pills and get better - arthritis doesn't work that way, it's a stubborn disease to say the least. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
