Smoothie makers for arthritic hands

Hi, wondering if anyone can help. I really want a smoothie maker, but the j ug type are impossible, I can't screw and lock them. I'm looking at hand blenders, but not sure if they will do what I need - deal with ice, frozen fruit and, if possible, nuts.
Can anyone advise?
Many thanks

Welcome to Arthritis Care Forums, Tereza, from the moderation team.
I am very sorry to hear you are struggling to use conventional smoothie makers with your hands.
I’m attaching 2 links one from Arthritis Research UK and one from Arthritis Care regarding preparation of food with arthritis, but am not sure either of them deals with your specific issue. Therefore I am hoping one of the members on here has some advice for you.

This ‘old’ thread has so many tips in it it might also be worth a read:

Very best of luck.

The more expensive hand blenders should be of sufficient quality to cope with ice and nuts; key features are variable power, stainless steel blades and shafts. I have a Bosch which was around £70 which I use for soups, cream and other softer things, I am still able to use my Kitchen Aid processor for the tough stuff. Don't buy without 'trying' - I hope you have a good, local cookshop so you can handle the goods to see what suits your grip and strength. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this.
