    Hi @Daffodil

What a lovely username, do you have Welsh connections or enjoy Spring? It's great to say Hi and get to know another new friend. You are so right about the advert, it sums things up so well and I think seeing how it is works better than just hearing or reading about it.

You have one of the autoimmune arthritis varieties, have you had it long? I see you are waiting to start biologics, I do hope that can continue as quickly as possible in spite of the COVID situation.

Morning stiffness is bad, I lie in bed and go on a little journey of my body noting which bits are painful and doing some stretches while I'm there to help me to get up a little easier, I think it works. Then it's a case of taking things easy while the body adjusts, hard to have to be patient at times.

This is our information on better mornings

What work were you doing? Did it mean you were getting out and about meeting people? Have you got others with you, sharing shielding with you or giving you company while you shield?

Post again soon and let us know how you are doing, you will find lots of company in Living With Arthritis and in the Chit Chat zone too

    Take care

    Yvonne x

    Hi Yvonne
How are you today ? I chose the name daffodil as it’s a lovely bright colour and cheerful. I don’t usually like help forums as I have a sense of humour and don’t like illness but yes I miss the office chit chat and forcing myself to struggle in and my colleagues were being sympathetic which was very annoying as I was just trying to ignore having rheumatoid arthritis, polymyositis and asthma but I have tried 4 different DMARDS and several steroid injections . I have husband who works from home and am missing my grandchildren especially a 3 week old yet to see or hold. I think this situation we are all in is just sad it’s stopping us being able to just be normal.

I have psoriatic and osteoarthritis and have never been as shown in the ads. I think it would be better if they showed people succeeding despite their arthritis rather than focusing on all the ouching.

I began my first arthritis aged 37 (psoriatic) then osteo was diagnosed when I was 52. I am now 61. I remain reasonably mobile for two reasons, daily exercises and the use of walking aids, both employed since 2002. The exercises are a mix of my post-synovectomy ops physio and stuff I did with my personal trainer. I am stiff in the mornings but it goes with stretching and tightening exercises in bed and the first hobble to the kitchen for a cuppa. I am in my eighth week of shielding and reckon I will be until the end of the year, that way if it ends sooner that will be a boon. I inject methotrexate and humira and have increased the use of my preventer inhaler. I have also resumed taking a daily dose of Vit D plus calcium as I am spending so much time indoors. DD

Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
