Osteoarthritis is making my life very miserable!

Hello,
I have osteoarthritis. I think it started with a neck injury and it's progressively got worse over the years and has pretty much affected all of my joints.
I used to be very sports active and now I can't do half the things I was once able to and that really upsets me and saddens me but I still try. Sometimes my joints get very sore and painful. Strong painkillers helped a bit but they had side effects so I stopped taking them. My GP prescribed me something but unfortunately they didn't help. I have muscle weakness in my upper limbs and lower limbs (feet included) and I quite often lose my balance which is not a good feeling!
My arthritis arthritis is affecting every aspect of my life which is making me very miserable!
