Its the regular supply of live ones brought into the kitchen for a play that irritates. That and the loud announcements made to say "I've got another one" that gets the other 3 cats attention.

Spot on Mike!
Daisy/AKA 'Sleek' has a special meow for 'prey' sort of a gentle 'moo' high pitched.
She just peeped over my shoulder reckoned that was a very kind cat leaving that for their owner🤢

I have noticed that Vixen has a different meow for live mice and dead mice; she is normally a non-vocal cat unless mice are involved and she will speak as soon as she comes through the flap. When I hear her "live" meow I tell her to take it out and she usually does; dead ones are brought to me and dropped at my feet! If I miss a "live" meow she invariably requires help to corner it; I usually try to coax it into a boot with a grabber before launching it into the field.

Toby went through a phase of bringing in a mouse nearly every day this summer, usually alive, and he’d drop them on the floor for us to “play” with. “Playing” usually involved blockading doorways and low furniture and dismantling the living room trying to catch the poor things. My OH had to do the crawling around, as my hip won’t do that, and one mouse ran out between his knees! We never did find a couple of them. They literally disappeared. One minute we had them pinned down, and then they just vanished!

Naughty pusskins smoking😮and necking back the booze!
hehehe!
Our pusskin was a great hunter - luckily she isn't quite so bothered now. We got anything upwards of 4 creatures a day ranging from voles, mice and 2 moles through to baby rabbits and birds and once a magpie. They are actually HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮
Now i just find headless voles in the garden. She doesn't eat their other ends🤢
Nature I suppose

Thank you all for cheering me up on a bad day. I've become a poet to keep my mind busy - I seem to think in rhyme now ! Here is one about the principle of CBT ( it's easier said than done )
I'm wearing out
There is no doubt
Keep cheerful s'what
It's all about
To lessen pain
You train your brain
To think of sunshine
Not of rain 😕
😊

I have a feeling the back story to that isn't as cute as it looks.

I'm not so sure, apparently this Monkey adopted the kitten. They look quite happy to me.
