difficulty with swallowing
Hi, my son who is 21 was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in July, his rheumatologist now thinks he might have Axial Spondyloarthritis and he has just had exrays and an MRI scan for this. He takes Methotrexate and Sulphasalzine. He had a steroid injection into his muscle last week which has thankfully given him some relief from the pain. However he now says he is having difficulty swallowing, he doesn't have a sore throat, says it is more like the food is getting stuck as he tries to swallow. I just wondered whether this might be connected to the arthritis or medication? Has anyone else experienced this? We have an appointment with his rheumatologist next week so will discuss with them as well.
thank you

Hi @db10
I am sorry to hear that your son has difficulty swallowing. I have no personal experience of this and wondered if your GP could advise you about this problem.
I am sending him this link which you both might find interesting
