Hi can any one help when your pain killers and pain creams just don't work any more. Os in both hips knees and toes. Doctor doesn't seem to want to help change them.

Up in the night feeling so down wishing for warmer days when may be in less pain or I hope.

Any one any ideas on something different to try to get rid of the pain

Hello @Marina66 and welcome to the online community,

I see that you have rheumatoid arthritis and the pain is getting worse, and you’d like to know if there is any help available.

If you are in the UK, you normally wouldn’t have to pay for medication, apart from prescription charges if you are not eligible for free prescriptions. Are you posting from abroad? At any rate, it would be worth speaking to your Doctor or Consultant to see if there is alternative treatment available- it sometimes takes some time to work out which treatment is best for you. Or it might be that the methotrexate hasn’t yet started to work for you - it can take up to 12 weeks before you feel any effect.

Peter has posted a good link to help @Freda1100 who is also experiencing increasing pain. You might find it useful to have a look at, and I’ve also added a link below where you can find out about other things you can do to help:

I hope there will be other members who can offer their suggestions and support.
