I have not had a diagnosis but was told 4 yrs ago I had a lot of arthritis in my knee. I now have a lot of pain in both my ankles and have been told to wear gel wedges to ease the pain. This worked for a while but the pain has returned. Can anyone advise if they have these symptoms and what you do to help ease the pain. I was looking at Turmeric but unsure if it would help with this.

    Hello @Pam214

Welcome to the online community and thank you for joining us.

So about 4 years ago you were told that you had arthritis in your knee however you were never given an official diagnosis. You are now experiencing pain in both of your ankles. You have been told to wear gel wedges to ease the pain. This worked for a while but it has now returned. You've looked at Turmeric but not sure if it would help.

You certainly have an interesting story and I wonder who advised you to try the gel wedges? In order to get an actual diagnosis you would need to see your doctor, as I'm sure you know but you may want to consider this anyway now that the pain has increased in your ankles.

I've attached some information below which I think may be of help to you but I also think you will find the advice from your fellow members informative once people have had a chance to see your post.

Please do let us know how you are getting on and I hope you get some relief from your pain soon.

    Take care

Thank you Anne. I had a meniscus tear on my knee and went in for surgery and the surgeon told me then about the arthritis, saying he doubted the surgery would help, but it did. A physio advised me to wear gel wedges as I had gone to see about the pain there. I look forward to reading the information you have sent. I have felt daft talking about this before but it is now at the point I need to get advise. Thank you
