Should I delay doing my Imraldi injection?

Options

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well and having a nice jubilee weekend?

I'm on imraldi injections for rheumatoid arthritis, but I've had what I assume is a bad cold for nearly 2 weeks. I am due to do my injection tomorrow but am unsure if I should hold off doing it until I'm better?

I tried calling the rheumy nurse hotline on Thursday but I had to leave a message and haven't had a call back. Also, my regular blood tests results came back on Wednesday evening and they showed I had some sort of infection (white blood cell, neutrophils and lymphocytes all higher than they should be), but I couldn't speak to my doctor either as they where shut for the jubilee.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and either delayed doing their injection, or just done it and been fine.

Also, its definitely not covid as I've done a load of LFTs and all came back negative

Thanks

Amy

That's a difficult problem and what a time to get it when all is shut!

I've never done imraldi, just methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine. I've always stopped the meth when I have any kind of infection but i think what we should do can be quite individual. You've done all the right things by trying to contact your rhematology helpline and GP. Just a shame it's a Bank Hol.

I think I'd be tempted to ring 111 but, as a final resort, I'd be more wary of potential damage done by taking it than by not taking it.

I hope you're soon over it all.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hey Stickywicket

    Thanks for your reply 🙂

Calling 111 might be a good idea actually.

But yes like you say, I'd rather delay it just in case than risk my cold or whatever this is getting any worse
