Electric bikes

Hi, newly joined. I can no longer ride a “normal” sit up type bike due to pain from OA in shoulders , neck , spine and hands. I’m not wanting to quite biking and thinking of an electric sit up type bike, however, all the ones I’ve seen involve gear change either using your thumb(painful) or tristgrip(impossible). Anyone got any other ideas for pain free gear change? Thanks

Hello @Farmerswife and welcome to the community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that you will find that as well.
I understand that you have OA in your shoulders, neck, spine and hands and are looking for advice regarding cycles and gear changers. I can understand your needs as I have OA in my thumbs and hands and ride a motorcycle so indicators etc are quite painful. We do not have any direct information to give you on this subject but we do have a load of information on our website on other things such as how arthritis affects us, treatments and hints and tips. have a look, I've put a couple of links below which might help.

If you are close to a bike shop they may be able to advise or even adapt one.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
