First consultant visit

Options

I'm seeing a rheumatologist for the first time later this week. Does anyone have any advice as to what questions I should ask? I want to go prepared with a list and don't want to get home and think of something I wished I'd asked!

Hi@DinahD see the attached thread, there are some good questions in it (and some tongue in cheek ones so ignore them!)

Take someone with you. It's at least as important to remember what the consultant says.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I tend to make sure I tell them all my symptoms and how they affect my life. Then I let them tell me what their diagnosis is, what further tests are required, what drugs/treatments will be beneficial, timescales etc. I agree with @stickywicket , take someone with you to take notes, as you won’t remember half of it when you come out. Otherwise, at least take notes yourself, the doc won’t mind.
