PMR and RA

Hi Thanks for allowing me to join this group. I am hoping for support and help so I can deal with this horrible illness. I am on Methotrexate and Prednisolone and just about to start Adalimumab (Amgevita) has anyone any experience of this? Would love any advice!

Welcome to the community, I hope you get the support you are looking for.

With the DMARDs it is all about getting the medication that suits you, and gives you the best quality of life. I hope you are doing well with your meds. and that adalimumab helps.

Hi @Maggie68

I have psoriatic arthritis and I'm on sulfasalazine, MTX and Amgevita. The rheumatologist says the 3 drugs work together - I think the effect is called synergistic. I started Amgevita late July 2021 as sulfasalazine and MTX hadn't worked. After about 3 weeks noticed an improvement of my symptoms and after 2 months I was able to hand my crutches back. I'm not cured (I wish) but I'm significantly better. I now walk my dog 50-60kms a week - albeit with a limp. I don't now take painkillers regularly. It's certainly helped me significantly though I do recognise that's not the case for everyone.
