Hi, I have oa in my hands, especially my thumbs, it hurts so bad, and keeping me up at night, and struggle with work, is there anything else I can do to ease the pain apart from codine? I do stretch exercises for the hands ect, but now the pain is do bad.

    I’m glad to see that you’ve joined the forum - I’m sure you’ll find some helpful suggestions and tips from our members to help manage the pain in your hands. You might find some useful ideas from the link below too. If you can take a non steroidal anti- inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen, you might find that deals better with the pain than codeine:

    Hi, I am unable to take ibuprofen, due to my blood pressure meds, but I have the gel from drs, but not much help, I have been given codine, but makes me constipated, so take it in smaller doses, next step is to discuss with drs, re fibromyalgia, as getting aches and pains all over.

    I take 2 magnesium tabs to control my codeine constipation but they can make you sleepy too.All the dr’s stuff seems to have side effects.
