    Hi all

    I currently have OA in my hands and right foot. I work full time in an office and was recently referred to Occ Health through my employer who have recommended Dragon 🐲or other voice activated software to help me as I get pain and stiffness in my hands✋😥 when I type.

    Just had a trawl through the forum and most comments about this subject go back a few years and I am wondering if anyone within this lovely community currently uses voice activated software to support their use of a PC🖥️.

      Hello @ChrisG9 there certainly are some. One of our moderators a couple of years ago used some software - unfortunately I can't remember what it was they used. If you are using Windows you might find that there are some features inbuilt which help - saves spending a lot of money.

      Hope you find a solution that works for you.

      The forum webmanager Sharon Kilty used to use dragon I think if I remember rightly because she spoke about it to Barbara12 when she was losing her eyesight.

      Neither of them are posting now unfortunately.

      I do think it's great that your HR are prepared to get something like this for you though @ChrisG9

      Maybe you could feedback on what you get for the next person who comes in asking?

      Thanks both, I'm going to have a play with the inbuilt windows voice features first and I'm happy to report back on how I get on once Dragon is acquired

      Hi @ChrisG9

      My son is dyslexic and when he went to university about 10 years ago I bought him Dragon Naturally Speaking software for his laptop, a good mic headset and a digital recorder listed on the Dragon website approved list to work with it. You have to go through a set training routine to train the software to your voice but once that's done I found it very accurate. I spent quite some time with it to ensure it would work for him. I live in the west of Scotland so certainly don't use received pronunciation. I'd reckon I got it to about 90-95% accurate.

      Hi. I use Dragon software, my company got it for me. I have a good headset and I went on training to get the most from it. Once you get use to it, it is really good and helpful to use.
