Iliotibial Band release and Arthroscopy with fat pad resection

A friend of mine is having this done soon, apparently a quick recovery time. Has anyone had this done?

    Hi @Socialdancer and welcome to the online community,

    I’ve never heard of this type of surgery so it will be interesting to hear if any of our members know of it or have had it done.

    If you want to read a bit about it, Royal Berkshire NHS have produced a leaflet outlining the procedure for iliotibial band release that you might find useful to read.

    Thank you Anne, I do have information from one of the hospitals here in Dublin that does it but I will look up that leaflet too. From my not too knowledgeable reading, I don’t think it would be suitable for me.
