Shoe insoles for knee osteoarthritis

Hi all. I'm thinking of trying insoles to see if they would help with my knee osteoarthritis. Just wondering if anyone has tried them and any recommendations

    I'm assuming you're wearing strong, supportive shoes. (Trainers are usually good.) If so, I'm not sure insoles would help. Have you seen an orthotist? They're the experts.

    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    As above, orthotics dept at your local hospital are the experts, get refered by your gp.

    i buy squash trainers every year and orthotics totally rip them apart removing the whole sole and re strengthen them and then do a mould of my foot for insoles so they are specific to your shape of foot. buying pre made may help some but may make it worse for others.

    thanks for the replies guys. my trainers are good quality, Asics trainers. the trouble i am having is when i have to wear smart shoes, after an hour or so i am in agony. I shall definitely look into the orthotics department for advice.
