Managing wound

in Living with arthritis

Three weeks post hip replacement stitches out last Friday. Wound healing well should I be moisturising each day, with what and how often? Forgot to ask nurse. Thanks N

    Hi @Norny

    You need a tub of E45. Don't get the stuff in a bottle, and rub it in as often as you want to. Feels good if you keep it in the fridge too

    there are lots of post op diaries you can read on the site - I’m now 6 weeks post op and feel amazing

    @Shelly82 three weeks on Friday since having RTHR, having some glute pain in hip but physio says that's because the muscles were so weak. I had hip dysplasia which caused my arthritis. Surgeon said my hip was in worse shape than he thought, I had a large tear in the cartilage which wouldn't have shown on xray no regrets getting the operation.
