This is perfect to say hello Colin @timber101

A warm welcome to the online community. I see you have been diagnosed with arthritis in your right hip I take it it is osteoarthritis (OA)?

You were considering a steroid injection in your hip, but were put off by the information that you can only have 4 in a lifetime? This NHS information cites 4 in 12 months:

Some of our members have got a great deal of help from the Nuffield joint pain programme if you were interested? If there is a Nuffield gym near enough to you:

I'm glad you've found the forum and hope you'll decide to keep posting.

    Best wishes

    Ellen.

Hi @timber101 you said hello anyway☺️ Hello back from me Colin.

I didn't realise there was a 4 injections in your lifetime rule. Is it something to do with possibly needing surgery in your joint in the future maybe?

Have you tried physiotherapy? In our surgery we can self-refer which I have done and it has helped quite a bit. Keeping moving is vital so that our muscles and tendons stay strong to support the painful joint.

I just recommended that nuffield programme to someone else my sister is on it atm and it's really helped her. She gets 6 months free membership at the gym too.

    Nice to meet you

    Toni
