Weight gain on meds?
Content warning- weight talk
Since losing mobility in my knee I've gained about a stone over a year and a half. Not too bad considering how much my movement decreased. Over the last 6 months I've gained an additional stone and a bit (around 8kg), I also started methotrexate 6 months ago and I've found a few sources saying that could be the cause. It's getting me down lately and I'm still struggling with my mobility, I really struggle to stick to exercises for more than a week or two at a time as well. Has anyone else experienced weight gain directly after starting methotrexate, is it something I should mention to my rheumatologist or not?

Hello @samozoa
I also struggle with consistency with regard to exercise! I've found that I stick with activities that are more social, for example going swimming with my sister and doing pilates at the community centre. There's a local 'walk for health' group that I'm thinking of joining as well. I've found exercise really good for my overall mental health as well, I've stopped thinking of it as a way to 'get fit' and see it as a way to feel better all round. Maybe a group activity would suit you?
I looked at this page on the VA site, it doesn't mention about weight gain :
, but I think that if you are worried about the methotrexate you should discuss it with your rheumy team. All the best Joanne
