Hip replacement and leg discrepancy

Hello , I Hope you are all enjoying this lovely start to Spring 🌷

This is just a little update.!!

It’s now a month after my left hip replacement and managing on one crutch most of the time. No pain anymore whilst sitting but still swelling in my foot and around knee and thigh and still a tightness and a protrusion around the incision site. Seeing my surgeon tomorrow. My main concern is my pelvis is still tilted up on operated side causing my leg to be one inch (2cm) shorter than my non operated leg. I tried a couple of steps without the crutch and I have a bad limp worst that before the op. I am hoping that my pelvis will drop and the muscles will relax? Will be interesting to hear what the surgeon says !!

Onwards and upwards 🌞

    I had my right hip replaced 7.5 months ago. My operated leg is 1 cm longer (true difference) but 2.5 cm longer (apparent) than the other. I was hoping it would improve with time but it hasn’t. I need to use heel lifts in my left shoe. Ok but can’t get any higher than 1.2 cm without heel pain or knee pain.

    Hopefully yours will resolve 🤞in time.
