A bit of a panic!!
So, yesterday I did something stupid😡 I was putting my shoes on and reached further for than I should have done. It was split second thing, I just forgot and wasn’t thinking. It was about 6 inches above the floor. There was no awful noise and no horrible pain so hopefully nothing awful done. I rang the physio and asked them to call me back but they haven’t done so yet, so will call them again this morning. My new hip feel sore in a different place this morning so I hope to god that I’ve not done any harm to it.
I think I really scared myself, and am maybe overthinking it, but I was just starting to feel that things were going ok, and now I’m not so sure.
Did anyone else do this?? Needing reassurance this morning xx

Oh Dear @Mommabear I'm sure you'll get a call-back today yesterday was a bank holiday so probably no-one was there.
Is it worth 'calling' some of our 'hippies'? @Janlyn @Trish9556 and @Fran54 and @alwayssewing ?
Do please let us know you are ok. If in any doubt there is always your GP and even 111 if you are really worried.
Best of luck
Ellen.

Oh dear. I hope that you have managed to speak to someone today. Hopefully the discomfort was just down to over stretching, something I think most of us have done at one time or another. Take care.

I hope you managed to get some reassurance yesterday?
I think overstretching is something we have all done - it's an automatic thing to get as low as possible when putting shoes on and sonething we have to teach ourselves not to do.
Do you have a long handled shoe horn? If you don't then I would invest in a couple, I even have one in my suitcase for when we go away.
Elastic shoe laces are a, godsend as you never have to bend down to do laces any more.
Hope all goes is ok?
Trish

Thanks for the comments. The physio rang me yesterday and reassured me that I had probably done no real damage but maybe a bit of new tissue might have stretched a little.
It did give me a bit of a scare, but it’s probably a good thing. I still have a lot of healing to do and want to achieve a good result, so have to be a bit more aware of things like overstretching.
This is all very new to me, I have led an active and busy life, and being laid up is something that I’ve never encountered before.
So, hopefully it’s back to normal now, back to the exercises and starting to build these up as per my instructions.
It’s three weeks tomorrow since I was done and I can see the progress that I’ve made.0 -
that must be a relief for you. I know the feeling when you want everything to get back to normal but I found just taking one day at a time was the best for me. The exercises do get easier over time as you will find out. Be patient and take care.🙂
