Got My operation yesterday partial knee replacement under spinal anaesthetic. Stayed the night. Couldn't walk with the sticks as my sedation was still in my system. Done walking with sticks & stair practice with the physio. Done 3 sets of exercises, one to go. Got home at teatime. The operation went well. Got an x-ray today. Rehab starts from today. Did two sets of exercises yesterday, due to having a spinal. The Staff In the hospital were great. Food was good.. I have survived my first experience as a patient, after being a nurse for 42 years. Onwards & upwards. The painkillers are essential, so you can walk & do the excercises. Looking forward to getting a good sleep, didn't sleep much last night. Glad to be home. Husband has been great. I will keep you updated.

Sleep. Have been managing to do my exercises x4 times daily & walking up the stairs to the loo. The painkillers are helping. My husband has been chief cook & bottlewasher. Couldn't have done it without him. My wound leaked a wee bit yesterday, just put a dressing on top of the original dressing at the side. Made 2 appointments to have my dressing changed & clips removed with the treatment room nurse. Early days, so far so good.
