MSK full assessments?
I was referred to the MSK team a few months ago as I was having problems with OA on my right foot. However, the physio I saw at my surgery, who referred me, said that, as I had OA in numerous joints and was also concerned about my neck, that they would do a full assessment when I saw them and I was happy about this. I'm 79 and take pain killers for the OA, but have never had any sort of assessment. I received a phone call today to say the team would see me in a couple of weeks, but would only look at my right foot. Any other body part affected by arthritis would have to be referred separately. Are full assessments not done?

Hi @Megrose489
If I were you I would speak to the physio at the surgery and tell them what you've been told
If they've been asked for a full body assessment, surely thats what they should do?

Hello @Megrose489
I agree with Trish, I would contact your physio again and see if they can arrange for a full assessment. I've never heard of separate referrals for each body part affected. Here's some more information for you to have a read through.
Osteoarthritis (OA) | Causes, symptoms, treatments
Osteoarthritis (OA) of the foot and ankle | Versus Arthritis
Wishing you all the best and hope you get this sorted out.
