Are biologics helpful if you are on apixaban?

Hi @Carole1958
I've been on edoxaban and apixaban since just before I was moved onto the adalimumab biosimilar Amgevita. I was originally put onto edoxaban after I has an episode of atrial fibrillation and tachycardia. A known side effect of edoxaban left me with cold hands and feet so my cardiologist changed me to apixaban. However I had significant headaches and balance issues with apixaban as well as a worsening of my existing tinnitus. The cardiologist changed me back to edoxaban and I put up with the cold hands and feet.
I haven't found any issues with taking either drug with my biologic to my knowledge.

Thank you for your message, @Carole1958 , and thank you @jamieA for your helpful reply. As we are not medically trained, we encourage you to speak with your rheumatology team to discuss your medication and any potential interactions. The treatment plan can vary depending on which biological therapy they recommend, so it's important to let them know about any medications or supplements you are currently taking. If you know the name of the medication, you can search our website under the "Drugs" section, where you’ll find information on potential interactions with other medications. Once you're on the right treatment, it can make a real difference in managing your RA.
Best wishes
