have had rheumatoid arthritus for about 5 year now
Just developed Peripheral neuropathy in my feet
Loss of feeling in my feet.
My Rheumatologist has asked me to have a nerve biopsy
as he thinks the arthritus is causing the neuropathy,
But wants me to stop in hospital for 2 weeks while he does the tests, I just cant stop in hospital for 2 days never mind 2 weeks.
I thought the nerve biopsy was an outpatient procedure,
Has anyone had this nerve biopsy done thanks.
I really dont know how to tell my Rheumatologist that I am not willing to stay in hospital for that length of time Help can anyone suggest a solution to this thankyou.

    Oh Dear
    I couldn't stay in hospital either :(
My kids would miss me  honest they would
Seriously though - you will have to brave it and just ask nicely if this could be done as an outpatient or not. If he says no you'll have to tell him your reasons for not wanting to stay in.
Maybe it could at least be done quicker :?:
I am interested in your diagnosis though - I hadn't heard of this before. I guess you want to know more yourself too.
I wish you luck and will cross my fingers for you

    Hi
Sorry about the problems you have. You must talk to the Drs as above, I'm sure something can be sorted out. Maybe a sympathetic GP might be a person to talk to for a start? Hope everything goes well. Sue
