Hi all,
As Most of you know that I get an ambulance to hospital appointments , the last one to have a MRI Scan , well I got it done and was waiting to get results back. Today I got a letter for an appointment at Moyle hospital in Larne so I was all delighted to get the letter so rang to book an amublance.
The lady started to quiz me as to why I needed the ambulance I told her about the oa althrough body she said well we are only allowed to book ambulance s for heart paients unless your dr says its ok and really if he said travel by public transport is not allowed then you should not be getting an ambulance.
Boy has she got my blood boiling :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x she says she will get a sister ( nurse) to phone me on Friday to talk with me.
I am sooooo :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x I need to hear what the results are. the sugeon wont send notes to gp on findings .

Hi Mike,
Now first of all take a chill pill as this stress will do you no good at all
What I can't understand is why, with an ongoing appointment, has the ambulance not been booked automatically for you - is it because you're going to a different hospital?
You could ring your doctor's surgery to find out if the procedure has changed - not so long ago here, we weren't allowed to book an ambulance direct it always had to go through the GP - now we're not allowed transport if we're on high rate mobility as we're supposed to pay for transport out of the allowance - which I wouldn't mind but getting a caring taxi firm is another matter  Now don't get me started :x :x It's obviously catching

Blimey Mike!
You don't have much fun with the NHS do you?!
Hope you get it sorted as you need those results.
Good luck

Oh dear Mike, nothing seems to run smoothly for you does it, I can understand you're frustrated, perhaps its just a mix up, don't get too worked up or you will make yourself worse.
((((( hugs))))) xx0 -
You might just have got an over zealous receptionist, I have more arguments with drs receptionists than anything, I am sick of complaining and fear my GP might throw me off his books because I make myself heard, If I get no joy from the receptionist I contact the NHS and complain to them, then I get the practice manager ringing me to try to resolve things, I'm on Humira and feel I get ignored when I need help from my GP, I got told these injections are dangerous and to make sure I contact my GP if I need to, only problem is I haven't seen my GP for over 2 years, as I can never get an appointment, then the silly receptionist tells me to go to the walk in centre, which is there to fix a burn or put a plaster on, not to give prescriptions. I recently had to go to see a locum at another surgery and he sent me to the surgical ward at the hospital with suspected sceptacaemia, it wasn't it was a fungal infection through the Humira. Now my GP would have known this, the system is getting worse.0

Also a sister ( nursefrom the hospital was meant to phone me regarding an ambulance booking for me , The appointment is in January 27th its cocering my Mri results . I cant understand why its so hard to get the ambulance now as it is my secound time. the gp booked it no problem before.
