Surfing The Internet Surfin' the Net So I think I'm in the clear the boss is no where in sight I logon to the web and start to surf and then my hair stands up with fright the footsteps coming down the hall are quickening in pace there is no time to exit no way to save my face so I press the power button and relax just a…
Back in the day (I dislike the phrase but it's crept in to my vocabulary) there was a thread on this board where recipes were exchanged. It was unfortunately culled by an over-zealous webby but I think it's due a resurrection. Do you agree? I am not a cordon bleu cook but I'm not too shabby; I have a number of easy…
After reading the thread about the Kindle and seeing how many people have Kindle's and read. And people like myself who prefer proper books I thought it would be fun if we had a book club, where people could review books they have read and give a rating on how good they are. So I'll start it off! Breaking dawn by Stephenie…
... and all being well (I'm touching wood here), it looks like my late Mum's house is under offer again. I've reached the grand old age of 58 without making breadcrumbs - or rather not deliberately making breadcrumbs (any fool can drop them when eating a slice of crusty, fresh, lovely bread as The Spouse frequently proves). Radio DJ Brian Matthew has died today aged 88. A very knowledgeable man of music he will be sadly missed. R.I.P Brian
Actor Tim Piggot Smith has died at the age of 70. Many tv roles and films, sadly missed. R.I.P Tim
Earlier today I watched the documentary about the footballer and his struggle with bereavement - what a moving film it was. It's an area that people are naturally nervous of approaching (let alone discussing) with the bereaved, and maybe especially so with men due to the 'big boys don't cry' nonsense that's drummed into…
My cat decided I needed a mouse in my bedroom at 2.30 this morning! Needless to say I got the fright of my life, went running into hubby's bedroom ( I snore heavily and he is a light sleeper) demanding he deal with the mouse, last seen lying inside the bedroom doorway, semi-dead! He dealt with it, it was clearly past…
I don't know if anyone else has been affected but a couple of days ago all the threads went blue(ie unread) and just this evening I found I couldn't log in because I was no longer remembered. I suspect this may be something to do with my end of things so I need to ask my son , but just thought I'd check here as well.
