Hey all!
Im 21 and have been told I have oeteoarthritis recently. How did any of you manage to explain to your friends that you struggle to keep up with them? I find it really embarrassing when we are walking or out when I need to sit down and take a break. I dont really want to explain to them over and over what is wrong. I also get embarrassed if they ask if Im okay, I guess Im just hard to please!
Any suggestions or how do you cope?
Sarah

Hi Sarah
If you google "arthritis and the spoon theory" this may help you to explain to your friends why you cannot always do exactly what they do although you would dearly love to do so.

Dear Joanne
I am happy to know that it may be of help to you. Over the time I have been on the forum, this "But you don't look Sick" message has been mentioned, on occasion, as a guide, when people have wished to know how to explain to others how they are feeling and I stored away the information.
Love
