Coffee sounds lovely, will have another (just had a real one, decaf of course - or I will be up all night dithering). I know, the party went on 10 pages while I was perched making supper.

    Hi Trish,

Sorry my eyes went a bit for a while... got one working now

Oh Trish I wish you could meet her..... she is really lovely and I can't get near her without her coming at me and I am sure she has her arms out yelling group hug :lol::lol: I did get some very nice pic of her today.... and yep tis time I did send some more... she is 6 weeks old now and well over waist high.....

Now the biggest foal I have ever seen (in proportion to the mare that is) was a T/B cross Irish draft......

    Sad actually.....

I used to earn very good money (relief milking dos pay well) All my life I dream[t of owning a decent top draw T/B and I saved for somewhere to live and also for the horse........

I had a bit spare so looked in the H&H and saw a picture of a beautiful mare..... She wasn't cheap but... she was stunning in the photo.....

Went a long way knowing i was going to have her (I just knew she was the horse I had wanted all those years). Went into the yard and there she was an her and I clicked big time (Its not that common but i have done it with Flower as well and you just know don't you?).... I had all the gear for her and dressed her up (I also had spare as I did think 2 would e better than one...)

Took her out the yard to load her up, oh Trish I will never forget that feeling of cracking a dream :D Anyway another are started kicking up... I mean kicking up as well! So I asked what was wrong with her, turns out the 2 of them were good mates..... half an hour later I left with the beautiful one and the neurotic one :lol::lol:

The neurotic one (and she was totally) was in foal to the ID and my beautiful one to the T/B. I found a lace I could afford and we all moved home but it was near to the foaling dates but i knew the transport guy was good and well they arrived fine and everything went well and the dates got nearer.....

The neurotic one (by now a past master of knee capping people  ) went past her date..... By 3 weeks and when she did foal her boy had the cord around his neck, I sorted that out and then he got stuck...... I am trained but .... managed to free him (they can get stuck on the pelvis and especially when big) He was born dead... I tried everything to revive hi and lost.... T/B's as I remember tend to have foals around 50-60 lbs and this boy was 97ils..... I know cus he was pm'd.

    He was beautiful you know......

anyway he was the biggest but live these 2 ares here last year threw foals so big it got scary..... its all to do with what they are in foal to and what size they are... and if they go over date the foal grows the same as they would born......

This is where my worry over the big foal here comes from......

Bet you wish you hadn't' asked now

I guess the biggest are Shires actually.... though smaller the Suffolk Punches and Percheron's as well Clydesdales must be the biggest but cant remember what heir ave weight is..... I know the T/B's cus well I did work with a bit. xx

    Cris

I'm facinated at this story you are telling me.

What a shame the foal died. Cris you did eveything you could for her, you could do no more than that.

If I could have a nice win on the lottery Cris, I will buy you a horse that yo can choose, honest I will. You will also go to your lifetime dream go to Africa.

See I do listen. Chris will have a bungalow so she has not stairs to climb by the sea.

I would be so happy to do that honest I would. There is not much I would need anyway no massive house or lots of cars.

Anyway if she starts to foal ring the bell and I will come running :D

    Hi Trish,

I know I did everything and the pm was birthing trauma and a ruptured spleen...... he didn't have a hope he was just too big.

A week later (well 5 days actually) Perfect went down and foaled a text book foaling and the lad was healthy and fie but a bit premature. he was weak but he was fine... also big but nothing like the other.

I didn't put neurotic back in foal but did perfect.... on morning that maybe wasn't quite the done thing......The next spring she foaled the best foal i have ever met :D Every bit as perfect as her mum but that’s a different story and i think I have bored you enough now.....

    You want a coffee? xx

Hey Bubbles got a little bit more pink champagne if you would like some or may be you'd prefer a cuppa as well? A ((( ))) and hope you get a better day soon. xx

I enjoyed reading your fascinating memoir of the horses, sad about the foal. I had the same thing with kittens, I know, a lot smaller, but none the less, upsetting to say the least. Fascinating...........

Trish, when you win the lotto, could I have a get me up and down arm chair, save the OH heaving me up when I get stuck............

Thanks too for the hugs, right back to you. f050.gif I am looking forward to a better day to be honest, as the moment my head is in a different place, what with waiting for all the test results from yesterday, then seeing my Cardiac consultant next week, to see what state the ticker is in. I am all at 6's and 7's to be truthful. Fybro has kicked off like a mule. Perhaps that champagne would be a good idea. 8) I will just get a dainty crystal flute. Stuff that, put it in a mug...........

    Cris

I hope you are writing this down. You should you know.

I ave been on another Thread and I see you want to go to Born Free. hey we can go together, I have always loved that place.

I was watching a documentry, well it was the Born Free, they had heard about these lions I think it must have been in France as it was a French Circus, bit it could have been anywhere.

Well they managed to get three lions I male two female. They went on the plane to Africa and the female was very thin so they gave her treatment and she was alright.

Then the other lioness got very sick and they thought she would not last the night.
    She did get well.

Then they were released into a game reserve where they were guarded. At first they would not go too far away from where they got out after being realeased.

The stars actresses and actor still support the Born Free fund ang go to see them regulary.

At the end, the lions walked off together. It was so nice to watch.

    Hi Trish,

I do write stuff down... the pc is full of it

I saw the ones the other day as well and bless them though I should love a lioness I know they don't make good pets!

The Born free foundation do a lot but above all animals I think Lions are the best for me.... Long ago we went to the press preview at Longleat before it opened to the public, I got to bottle feed a lion..... oh she was so lovely but a bit scratchy to a 7 year old ho didn't know how to hold her

The only downside is how they get dinner..... I wish they didn't have that design fault but if you had one... you could.... take it to the meat department of a supermarket and she could help her self as nobody would stop her :lol:

Don't think my sheepsis would be safe either......

We shall go Trish just hold on to that cus sometimes dreams have so much strength in them...

Will send Primrose through to you in a bit, promise and she is so sweet... except when she does the fanny Flat ears...... xxx

Cheers, we would have too, but they are all "done" now. Three is enough. They do do that, have another 24 hours later, bizzare. I had to help with all our queens kittens, good job I was there and had to call on my maternity ward days, from years gone by. Thanks for the purs too, the Siamese has just been to see what I am up to.

I would do that for you. Just to think what I could have done if I had won that £84 million.

I would have a field day. Cris could have her horse or two plus someone to help her out doing the lifting so she could rest a bit.

Harley Street for her drip in a private ambulance.........I could do so many nice things but it would not all be in the news no I would never do that.

    Cris

How about if we all go to the Born Free .......don''t think they would left me go on the balloon ride. Unless you want to get blown up.

Oh Bubbles Siamese are lovely but very demanding  I had a few Orientals and some variants as well as Bengal’s but they were as feral as any I trapped  Not good breeders..... not at all.....

Had a lovely Abyssinian, he really was beautiful but he didn’t like dogs so it was a bit difficult as he got a bit nasty..... I love the ferals mind, I really have so much empathy for them as they are the scourge of the cat world.....

What are the other 2? Another hug and a cuppa, Cris xx

    Hi Trish,

Ah but they might and besides we could go by truck just as easily ((( ))) xx

They are Ragdolls, mother and son, mother hates son, so he winds her up even more. Have had oriental blacks, went to see some bengals, but was not convinced, in fact pretty scary as they were only F2, their mother was like a wild animal, truly fierce, the breeder said, oh, don't touch her................. right, let's go dear.............
Love russian blues too. Siamese are bonkers, but so clever, they know what you are doing, before you do it. She shouts when she hears the kettle go on, as she knows you are going to sit down and she can jump up on your lap.

I know, one person won the 80 odd million. We would be like you, do things for people but not say a word, change so many peoples lives. We keep trying.............Mind you, there are ways of making a difference, just by being there. xx

    Hi Bubbles,

As an F2 her mum was an F1 ad well they are the first cross so ..... you need a licence for them and thy fall into the same category as the big cats.... Personally...... i think they hybrid was wrong.... I know they breed true now but..... well..... the wastage was appalling! Spot the person into rescue here

Ragdolls are lovely! Are Thy the siamese colour? Mum and son's often don't get on do they? My lot being all ex feral love one another though they have a hierarchy to varying degrees but some, Bubbles I have had every colour under the sun from hedges, farm, factories and yards..... I do love em but I should love to see a Scottish cat I really would. xx

The Bengal was scary. The ragdolls, mother is a blue lynx bi colour and her son is a chocolate point. Siamese is seal point.
I could not go to the cat rescue, OH won't let me, I would be in such a state they would have to carry me out, with all the cats. We and the neighbours fed a feral cat, sadly that died over winter, I think it had kidney trouble, but she had good food every day for a few years. Now we feed the hedgehogs, birds, squirrels, sometimes deer wander round the park, they are lovely. Owls hooting all night, jays fighting with the magpies and cockoos in the daytime. its all go here.

    Hi Bubbles,

My 2 F4 were lovely... but the F3... well he was wild by nature and also by treatment..... Thy were lucky though cus they were rescued and ended their days here. We built the F3's a big en and they seemed happy but you had to be careful with them as they would spring at you as soon as loo at you. the others tamed down but the F4's just didn't live long, both only 10 when I lost them and the F3's were not much older... I don' think you can play with nature and get away with it however.... they were incredible cats just you had to be a bit careful with the F3's..... xx

I seem to be waking up so I shall go look and check on the mare... its not going o be tonight but I feel I should start to keep an eye on her a bit..... wonder what it ill be... she had a very large foal last year ad he took days to recover but ended up being really nice.....
