Hi, feeling down today, we have found out that Malcolm's dad (who has terminal cancer) has taken a turn for the worse, they have started him on Morphine as well as a painkilling patch, he can't stay awake now, and is not eating. Malcolm has gone to the hospice to see the doctor.
On top of all that my cat, jasper, is unwell, he is being sick everywhere, he will need to see the vet, more expense with money that we haven't got, where will it all end love Jaspercatxx

Hi Jaspercat,
I am so sorry to read your post and well all I can do is send you a ((( ))) and hope that Jasper at least just has a fur ball or something simple. Love Cris xx0 -
Hello there,
I am so sorry to hear things have taken a turn for the worse. One feels so useless at times like this...... theres not much you can actually do when someone is so dreadfully ill, except make sure they are comfortable and having the best possible care.
As for Jasper, is it not possible to get him seen/treated by the PDSA? I''m not entirely sure how they do things but a friend of mine took her two cats to them - I think she had to pay a small fee but nothing like what a private vets bill would have been.
Hope you soon feel a bit brighter, Jackie x0 -
Hi jaspercat,
Just to say that we are all thinking of you at this very difficult time, let's hope Malcolm's Dad is being kept as comfortable as possible. The hospice I'm sure will be doing all that they can for him.
And your cat is better soon.
Please update us, when you feel you can.

Hi, thanks for your kind words, I can update you on Jasper, he has seen the vet and she has given him an injection, he has eaten tonight but if he is no better on friday he has to go to the vet again, he will be sedated, x-rayed and have blood tests, hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.
There is no further info on Malcolm's dad, it is just waiting, we will keep visiting but he is not aware of us love Jaspercatxx0 -
Oh Jaspercat, I can't say anything helpful but am sending you more ((( )))'s. Luv Cris x0

Hello, I'm sorry about Melcome's Dad, at least sleeping hes out of pain and worry.
I am so sorry that your cat is unwell, they cann't talk to us and tell us if they have pain and how they feel, though when you know your animals well, you pick up on it don't you. I can understand you being upset about it - we have 5 cats and I hate it when one is ill. The last time my lovely old boy had an eye infection, the vet gave him drops - he got better quickly but the drops didn't help - they went everywhere except his eye! :? I hope your is a lot better, maybe just a bug? Ours had selminela once. Sorry I'm rambelling on. Just hold on and you'll get through, you'r so kind and caring I wish I could do something to help, all I can offer is to send you my best love and think of you. Take care of yourself, love & hugs Sue xxxxxooo0 -
Oh I'm so sorry, this is just an un-ending rollercoaster ride for you at the moment. I hope you can keep supporting Malcolm as you have been doing, this must be so hard for him to see his father in such pain. And poor little Jasper, has he been to the vet, sorry see he has? It wouldn't be sympathy illness would it? I've seen my little doggie very weird and sick when I've been terribly upset about something, once he was bringing up blood and had gastroentiritis (sp?) at the same time I became ill first with the OA. I wonder if Jasper is worrying himself sick about you.
Hopefully he will be fine. I send my heartfelt hugs out to you all.

Hi Kat
Sorry everything seems so bad for you at this moment in time.
I can understand what you are going through. At least you are there for your husband. He must be feeling dreadful. His dad is in the best place. ((((((((()))))))))))))).
As for your poor moggy. How old is he? As someone mentioned, may just be a hair ball. I think you can get tablets to help them get rid of them. Pity he can't tell you - he probably is in his own way. 'yes, being sick everywhere.' Just what you don't need.
When I was on my own with the two children, our cat got sick, very sick and I just couldn't afford the vet, so I rang the PDSA, and they were very off with me. We only treat the animals if you are getting benefits. I was working you see, but every penny was answered for, but I was in debt anyway. Difficult not to be sometimes,
Never know, you might be eligible. I lived 10 miles from the PDSA at that time, so it would have cost me petrol in any case. I'm sure the Vets would come to an arrangement, rather than let the animal suffer.
Hope you have better news tomorrow.

Hi,
So sorry you are having such a difficult time at the moment, sending you my very best thoughts and wishes. Take care, with love, Josie x0 -
Hi, once again thank you for being so kind, Jasper is much better today, he is eating and has only been sick twice, that was this afternoon, he is eating and drinking well this evening, so we think that it was a bug.
Malcolm's dad is still going down hill, they reckon hours now, he was quite fretful until we arrived this pm, I just held his hand and said we were there, he instantly settled. The staff are terrific, they keep us informed and always offer us tea and biscuits, I just thank god that he is there and not in hospital love Jaspercatxx0 -

Hi , I'm so glad your cats on the mend, I know how hard a pets illness is for a loving owner. Perhaps he had a bad mouse?
I'm so sorry that you are both having to go through such a difficult and painful time. I'm glad that Melcomes Dad is in a hospice, they are special places and much better than a hospital ward. I'm sure he is pain free. Please, please don't forget to look after yourselves.
Thinking and praying for you. Love Sue0 -
Hi Jasper
Sorry to hear Malcolm's dad is a bit worse, nice to hear that the nurses are so good and looking after him well. Hope this makes you feel a bit more settled, you helped him when you held his hand and talked to him too.
Glad the news is better about Jasper.
Thinking of you both.

Hi Jaspercat
You are having a very difficult time, and all you can do is be there for Malcolm's Dad. Even though he seems to be asleep, he can probably hear you, so that may be why he settled when you talked to him.
I'm glad that Jasper is a bit better. I wonder if something is going round, because Tommy has been a bit unwell today too.
