I like hearing them all - even the ones I don't like! I can feel quite Christmassy then.

Hi Trish,
My fav really is Bandaid, 1st or 2nd version. I know there are a lot of doubters be it really did make some difference and both times I was 100% in support. I can get on a soap box over Africa so will stop now
Traditional ones though, I do like little donkey but I love the lullaby song, I do know its a kids one
Love

Hi Rehab,
I am well aware there is a lot of 'debate' but glad you have decided not to cross swords, that's why I didn't get on my soap box as I wasn't looking for confrontation  I no good at it I'm afraid so thank you. Hope your feeling better now? Cris x0 -
Hi Rehab,
I really hope you feel better soon. Was it the swine flu jab? See I ask cus they are heaving me a bit about having it. You rest up and stay warm.
Hey could you tell my employers how nice I am please A ((( ))) to help you get better. Cris x0 -
I will write a letter to your company immediately, extolling your virtues (are you virtuous? ) Expect a promotion [/quote]
Hi Rehab,
Been called a lot of things in my time but promise virtuous has never been one of them Specially when I was younger and less haggard looking
Hope the test all come back ok and you soon feel much better. Cris x0 -
Hi all
I love hearing them all and i have so many Christmas cd's. I have the 'pop' songs and choir's singing carols.
My all time favourite though is the original Band Aid Do they know it's christmas. I think they 'belt it out' with such feeling that the other versions just don't have.
What annoys me is that these days the Christmas No1 has absolutely nothing to do with christmas!
Bring back Cliff Richard

I do like Band Aid, and Wizard, all of them, I was listening to loads last night.
Silent Night, is my favourite though. It means so much to me.
On Christmas Eve I go to the Candle light carol service, it's so nice with all the lights out and just the candles flickering.

Hi Trish,
Just wondering over to the cafe If I had to choose a real carol and a grown up one I would have Silent Night on the short list but I think either Away in a Manger or in The Bleak Winter (is it called that?) would be the first........
I got a lovely melody of carols, sung by........... Sheep
Love

Hi, I love all christmas carols, silent night I prefer though, at school I was taught to sing it in german, and I still can remember the words and I am 51 now, but I do get sentimental over I'm dreaming of a white christmas, don't know why as I can't stand to see snow love Jaspercatxx0

My favourite carol is 'Away in a Manger'
when my daughter Gillian was very young she used to sing
'away in a manger no crisps for a bed' !! stuff your kids say like that stays with you forever. Iris x0 -
I love all the songs and carols. If I had to choose a song it would have to be Slades old favourite- I remember seeing Noddy Holder on Top of the Pops screaming "It's Chriiiissstmmmass" into the mike-absolute classic!!!
If I had to choose a hymn it would have to be 'Hark the Herald Angels sing'. I love singing this at midnight Mass on Christmas Eve specially the last verse which is only sung at that service on Christmas Eve. I know then that Christmas has arrived and that it is only a few hours until the children get up all excited.
OHH I've come over all Christmassy!!!- better start peeling brussels!!!0 -
I love loads of Carols but have a soft spot for walking in awinter wonderland a bit commecial but it appeals to me.
Jingle bells seems to be the kids favourite.
Best wishes

Has anyone bought the new cd from Susan Boyle?
She sings Silent Night like I have never heard it sung before.
She is brilliant.
This carol has always lifted my spirits, but she lifted me beyond that.
wonderful

Hi all,
Hope you don't mind me joining in.
My son had the most beatiful voice and was a head chorister. My favourite Christmas moment was him walking alone holding a candle into the darkened cathedral singing the first verse of "Once in Royal David's City". He looked and sounded like an angel.

Hi Jean123 - Welcome!
I think my favourite has to be 'Silver Bells'. It isn't one that you hear a lot these days, but I used to sing it at school.

I love all the traditional carols, and the popular pop songs..... also a big favourite is Elvis singing 'Blue Christmas'.
Last year I bought a cd of The Salvation Army singing carols, and fell in love with one called "Starry Night", it starts off "it was on a starry night, all the hills were bright....." if anyone would pm me the words to this carol I would be very grateful, as I can't hear them all clearly on the cd - and I want to sing-along!
