THE SNOW

It is 3am in the morning and the snow is falling quite badly in London now and is settling I'm not sure when it started but we have at least 2" of may be 3".
They say it will be at least minus 1 in the morning, more colder in less built up areas.
A lot of schools are expected to close, again.
They are telling you to stay at home, if you can.

Hello Trisher.
I think we are expectedto have snow today, but so far we have got off lightly.
Tomorrow and Fri are supposed to be sunny.
We are supposed to be going to a NEW YEAR MEAL on Sunday with some Car Club Friends. About 50.. Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire and then stay in Lincoln Sunday night so that we can go and do some sightseeing, like the Cathedral, which is suppose to be beautiful. Not bothered about shopping, but it would give me a chance maybe to get one or two sales.
Can't see us going now. It's minus 2 here

I live in oxfordshire near the town of wallingford and I guess we have had about 8/9 inches this side of the hills, driving was a tad sporty even with a 4x4, but I got though, you can't keep a good cripple down well not when he has a 4x4!. Oh our 14 month old Parsons Jack Russell cross loves it, he puts his nose down and does a snow plough around the garden the mad thing.0

It's snowing here in Leicestershire, we got quite a lot over night as well.
My dogs also love the snow and run around the garden like demented puppies.

Its not too bad here in Middlesex,2 children at school one at home but it is sill snowing.OH said roads okay to drive on.

think employers getting worst!.........off course the workers are needed so they (bosses) can generate business for their yachts parked up in the med. it would be shame if they couldnt go. Saw chairman of m and s on news, saying his staff managed to get there and they were being flexible about staff arriving late and going early- how flexible, do they expect staff to work extra to make up lost time later..............this country is doidng my head in. grrr0

Well if you knock up a sledge I'll post you our two dogs to tow you about pixy!.0 -
Hi All
It's lovely!!
The kids are off school - easier than dreading that call eh Pixie? They closed it before they went in.
I have been outside with Lucy (youngest) and we cleared the drive (after a fasion) and put salt down.
Tried to get some rock salt at the weekend but failed - they all out of it here.
Lucy has built a snowman on my car (wrong sort of snow though) and Daisy (kitten) came out for a bit on a lead. She soon went back inGot sense that cat....
I only worry if I havent got enough food or meds...
Hope you are all warm, have enough food and meds?
Love

Morning everyone: Well, it's like a blanket covering the country today.
No chance of leaving home at all. I've been out shovelling and digging as much as my body will take.
I've made a path from the house to the bin, then did the same for my elderly neighbour.
I'm supposed to have my new Sky router today, but don't know whether they can make it here.
We're stocked up so wont starve, I just wish I'd bought more salt now, I've used a lot thawing out the ice. Our local Spar has sold out.0 -
Hi Trish,
I know its a nuisance but isn't it beautiful out? Its on the hedges not clobbered by the winds and banked up under then a bit with an incredible sky! Times like this I wish I could paint....... Joy, Joseph or Legs please come do a landscape of the back of here.....

It does look nice and there must be many scenes that are ideal painting scenes.
Why do we all come to a hault when it does snow? Look at Canada
you don't hear them complain?
Trish xx0 -
How do you paint sheep in the snow Joy?
Must say it is beautiful out there but no way will I venture out anymore.
Great image of Pixie being pulled in the wrong direction by her dogs!!!!

We seem to have been fairly lucky, about 5" now of the white stuff, although it is still snowing lightly. It does look beautiful out there, specially at dusk. I can admire it without having to like it!
I've been nowhere and am going nowhere tomorrow, but pleeeese let it come to an end soon, or I will go stir crazy...........

Hi Joy,
My sheep don't have lambs....... They are just follies I am very fond of :oops:See I knew I couldn't sell the lambs and well I didn't ant too many sheep either........ They are now just over 10 and one soon to be 10 so they are well past being breed from. I got 100's of pictures of sheep Joy, a few people here are groaning too many actually
I have mine in at the mo cus they do get cold and hate being wet(yes I know a lot of sheep live out but from choice sheep don't stay out in the rain or snow honest), they have different types of fleece and one of mine has a bit too much lowland breed in her to be out in sub zero temperatures for very long, at these ages they need bit more closeting but mine have always been spoiled
I got a few pics of the snow and sky today, they don't capture the atmosphere as a painting does do they? Tonight's sunset was amazing....... I so wish I could paintWill see if I can learn ho to re-size pics...... Hope your k? x
Hi Trish,
I don't know why but I always thing cus we just ain't used to it maybe? You keep warm up there. Love Cris xx0 -

HI Here, in South Norfolk, we don't have much, well only the remains of the weekend snow. We have had snow since before Christmas though, and we had 5"at one time. My sister, who lives in Hampshire had over a foot when I phoned her this evening and they never get snow as a rule! Love Sue0
