    Hi Katekelly,
Mothering Sunday can be so hard for people, who have not got there mothers with them, or in your case your god mother, like you say keeping busy can take your mind off things.
It is so nice to remember the good times, I love looking through our pictures, everyone tells a story.

    Love

    Hi
I lost my lovely mum to leukaemia 4yrs ago this June  , but I still buy her something every year. Last week I was in the supermarket and I saw a pottery boot for outdoors with a hyacinth in it. My mum collected ornamental boots because her dad was a cobbler. So I bought it and have put it next to her memorial pot in the garden.
Got a bit upset in the shop  but dont think anyone saw.

I also still have the last mothers day card I bought her, which has such beautiful words that we had it read out at her funeral, this gets put up every year and always will.

I hope all you lovely mums have a special day and get everything you wish for, treasure the memories. x

Quietwaters, what a lovely thing to do and lovely way to keep her memories x

Because of all the hype for this day, I feel very much for those who are not mothers and/or no longer have their mother with them. This applies to other "special" days throughout the year that are hyped up way too much too, for my liking anyway.

it can be a really tricky time for some of us, but it doesn't mean that we don't want others to be appreciated, but I agree Elna, that there is so much hype that that is what is so hard to bear.

My mum died two weeks before Mother's day, and the shops even then (27 years ago) were full of Mothers day stuff. It is always hard for me, even more so as I also am someone who cannot be a mum.

But like Noeltone/Chrisov mentioned, at our church there are always flowers given out to every lady present, with spare for those unable to attend, and I treasure those daffodils so much .... I think of my mum who loved daffs, of our baby who never was, and I also get a mother's day card from my dog ...... cos she is family too

This year I will be particularly thinking of our neighbour and his two girls. His wife died a few weeks ago, and he is soon to become a grandad for the first time. It will not be an easy time for them all, and I feel so much for them all.

so hugs here for those of you who find this time a struggle, and hugs also for those of you who have mums to cherish and children who love you.

    Wonky (((( ))))

Thanks for your post, it has enabled me to say this too. I really do hope all of you who can celebrate with your mums and/or children have a special day to show your appreciation for the love which bonds you daily and is sometimes overlooked in the business of getting on with your lives.

I lost my mum when I was 19 and also sadly was unable to have children myself so I too find the hype which has been mentioned a bit too in your face for someone like me. So I do send genuine sympathy and hugs to those of you for whatever reason this day can be a little hard to take.

I shall be working so it will be just another day for me, but I do hope the mums out there are treated to good company, silly or carefully chosen pressies and lots of hugs too.

    Dear Ange,

I am writing to offer you the post of honorary mum. The hours of work would be entirely up to you, and would fit around any existing commitments.

I am afraid that the remuneration for this post is well below the minimum wage. However, you do have access to an all-night cafe with as much as you can eat, as many soothing lavender cow pats as you can use, and all the fresh milk that you can obtain from the works cow (marigold is her name, before anyone tells you otherwise  )

Should you wish, you might also be interested in enjoying the company cruise liner which regularly embarks on cruises around the world. For more local entertainments we also have a bar which you would be welcome to make use of.

In addition to the above, you will receive as many WOnky hugs as you like, plentiful cuddles from Cuddles the cat, and the eternal gratitude of the workforce :D:D:D:D:D both human and animal (we'll let you decide who is who :lol::lol::lol: )

We look forward to a very happy future together,
    yours

    My very dear Wonks,

I accept the post of Forum Honorary Mum, with the greatest joy.

No financial renumeration required. Just a continuing supply of love, and hugs, which will, in turn, be reciprocated.

    Much love.
