It's 'Who wants to live forever' by Freddie Mercury and Queen and it's from Highlander. Oh and its Eilean Donan Castle btw.

Yeah you got it,my brother loved this film especially the bit where they are in a church and the Kurgan says it's better to burn out than fade away, little did he or we know he was to die in an RTA a short time later.
So anyway me and the war office, we went all the way up to Scotland to see the places where it was filmed, I must say Scotland is a really beautiful place, not over crowded roads are good countryside is stunning we went up the Ben and got as far up to the Forth of firth to see an old school freind we saw seals and oil rigs being repaired we had a great time but it was also sad at the same time if you know what I mean, sorry I went off on one there agan!.0 -

Hi Mell
No apology neccessary, the song obviously is very special to you. I also find it very poignant as it was recorded not long before Freddie Mercury's death from Aids so has a kind of bittersweet flavour. He was just a fantastic singer and the emotion is the song is extremely powerful.

Hi again!
I suppose I should keep this going, so here goes.... this song reminds me of when I was working as a teacher in a pre school children's centre and some of the poor wee souls had lives like the one described in the song.
"Momma please stop cryin, I can't stand the sound
Your pain is painful and its tearin' me down
I hear glasses breakin as I sit up in my bed
I told dad you didn't mean those nasty things you
said"

It's Family Portrait, Mell. I found the video of it, and I think it is cleverly done.
Babette, I have taught many children who had dreadful home lives. I always wanted to adopt them all. It breaks your heart to know what some children have to put up with.

Thanks Joan I would never have got it, I have a few of her singles on a compilation but knowing song done by Pink isn't me strongest point.0

Well done Joan; yes there are some poor wee souls out there. As Will Shakespeare said " Some are born to sweet delight, but some are born to endless night" unfortunately.
