As you all probably know, dorcas has gone to hospital today for the procedure on her wrist. We did set up a MASH unit on the LWA forum but I am dismayed to report that on arriving there earlier today, to check the final preparations, I found the entire staff paralytic on the single malt that we laid in in honour of our Scottish patient, so dorcas has had to go to a 'proper' hospital. I will be giving the entire staff a proper wigging when they wake up.

Dorcas, we are thinking of you and we hope all goes well. YOur diabolic damsel, DD

    Hi All,

Just posted this over on the LW forum but wanted to put it over here as well.........

Iris has text me and she has come through it ok. She was in recovery till 6 pm and now back on the ward. The surgeon is pleased with his handy work and she is being a good guinea pig (her words Wink ) and well bless her she said to thank you all as all the support and laughs really did hep her and she was thinking of us all as she went down to theaters.

Not sure how long she is in for but remember to ask her.

Will keep you posted as I hear and hope your all ok?

It's a whole new day and I hope you had a good night. Hospitals are sooooo noisy at night, but hopefully there was enough GA to left in your system to get you through! Hope you are feeling OK and that you have had some breakfast. WHY is breakfast served so early in hospital? I suppose it's 'cos they have hundreds to do. Thinking of you. Your Diabolic Damsel.

Today's Thursday - are they letting you out I wonder? Do you feel ready to leave, more to the point? I hope you had a good night, with some quality sleep. GA takes a while to clear, but imagine not having it while they work! Wishing you a comfortable day, your Diabolic Damsel.

Hi Iris, getting into the chit chat forum now I have more time on my hands.

I wonder how you are today. So hope you have stopped chucking up ... Hope the hospital consult YOU about whether you would prefer to escape today or would actually rather stay put for another 24 hours ....

If you want a kind-of half way house ... might be time to check in at the Mash tent - though not sure whether DD has poured enough strong black coffee down the medics necks yet??? DD???

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi DD,

Just checking the shed is all ready for her and the cow has moved over a bit  She did ask her consultant if she could be transferred to the MASH unit but he said it hasn't got a good reputation   :lol::lol:

Here you go one nice 10" slug for you and have you tried the letches yet? ((( ))) xx

Not got a good reputation? Who the hell does he think we is? At least we don't keep our patients waiting while we decide whether to pitch up for appointments or not, and we give them a good healthy diet of Scottish juice, melldel juice and tea and cake and biccies. Good grief, it's the best bloody hospital on the planet. And don't call frogmorton a cow - she'll get very upset! (Joke - don't throw stuff at me, it'll be returned with interest!) DD

On a much more appropriate and serious note - wot news on dorcas? I'm perturbed by the throwing up and swelling. I really hope she's better today. DD
