Hi DD, could always invest in some permanent marker pens - mark/colour code yesterday's Humira jab site as a "no no" ....?!

Hope you are feeling better today.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

That's a thought! I'll end up with crosses everywhere, and one or two target sights. Feeling lousy today, very tired, didn't sleep well, had a difficult day and now have to go and wrestle with making meatballs for the first time in my life. I really am NOT in the mood. Still, promised The Husband more boy food, so has to be done. DD

Hi DD, tell hubby - real men eat food out of cans - and next time you feel rough give him meatballs out of a tin!! Or even pass them off as your own!!

Get in more freezer "boy" food for when cooking is really the last thing you feel like doing.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow,

Thank you my thoughtful friend! They certainly are yummy, tho as I've just stated over on dorcas's thread I am so hungry I will eat anything. MY hattieness is developing well, getting heavier, like a drink (!) but the rampant libido still hasn't turned up. Can't have everything I suppose. DD

Mars bar ice creams and Cadbury's chocolate covered peanuts. Fed up with the diet as I am going to be fat anyway. DD

The Mars bar ice cream is a reward for the gross stomach stabbing. One needs a little something to encourage one to do battle with these vile meds. Grazing on veg, drin king copious amounts of water to feel 'full', appetite increasing daily, things that fitted two weeks ago now no longer do. Still feeling 'fake' better, but know that the long-term prognosis ain't great (is it ever?) I am unwilling to waste money on SW or WW - I suspect I could live on fresh air now and still carry on getting fatter! This is what steroids do to some people, they've done it with me before, they will do it with me again. I am in the hamster wheel of vicious failure, running (ha-ha) like mad. DD

Aw DD, you have convinced me that you are taking ice creams for medicinal purposes so that is ok.

I cannot fully understand what you are going through as I only had one steriod jab just the once and felt no effect so although I have not experienced what you are going through you have ALL my positive thoughts that I have that you will feel a bit better very soon.

And please remember that you don't have to be 'fake happy' as you put it on this site. This is where you can moan and scream to us to let your frustration out a bit.

Have a good day today DD, Carol x

I love mars bar ice creams too! I wish Lettuce tasted like fish and chips - I hate dieting! Why do all the things good for us taste yucky!

I have had a few week courses of steroids and I know how great they make you feel - but as soon as your off them bang! its back again! it truly is fake! Its so frustrating. I hope you feel a bit better soon and not so worried about your weight.

Oh DD - so sorry to hear that things are still awful for you..

Can't offer any advice, I'm afraid, just look after yourself, keep cool and fresh and treat yourself to Mars bar ice creams if you want, you WILL lose the steroid weight afterwards....

Right, an update. I sat down at my computer earlier and the button flew off my skirt. I went upstairs and changed into a pair of trousers, came back, sat down and off flew another button. To save any more flying buttons I have now cut them off everything. That will stop me feeling cross as my hattie-ness grows. DD

Up you pop again babycham and make me laugh! I do have a variety of large pins, but the flab is substance enough. I don't move fast enough for anything to fall down anyway. DD

Safer than a nappy pin is an elastic band - threaded through itself to loop through the button hole and then the other end looped round the button ....
