    Hi,
A good diet is always helpful for your body. It may not effect your RA, but if it makes you fitter, that should help, I'd think. I'd just add that make sure you are getting all the correct minerals and vitamins in your diet. Good luck, I hope it helps you. Love Sue

Am I right in thinking you are a week in? Have you stuck to it? Is everyone else in your house on the same thing or are you now multi-meal cooking? Update please, carola! DD

Haha! You make me laugh DreamDaisy
Aye, you are right - that is me 1 week in. On the whole doing pretty well. I fell off the wagon yesterday though and had some salmon. I am really missing eating fish. Not weighing myself at home. Weighed myself last week on the machine at Tescos so will wait until I am there again. My tummy doesn't feel as bloated and I feel a bit more energized. Had a few bad headaches which is probably due to withrawals from junk food! Not feeling as hungry as I was the first few day either. My swollen hands have been a bit better however its probably coincidence at this stage.
Every day it gets easier to eat so healthily. My boyfriend is eating the same things as me now however he adds a chicken breast or fish to the dish. He is 6ft 4inches and has a physical job so I forgive him!
Have a Galaxy Ripple for me DD! And hope you have a good day today as I think I saw you post on another messageyouyou were in some pain, Carol xx

6ft 4inches is a proper height. Yum yum. Yep, in pain but better than yesterday, couldn't cope with it at all, which is not like me. At least it's sunny today, and that always makes a difference.

I now have some prat with a chain saw outside. What a racket!

I am glad you have managed to stick to it - one tumble from the wagon isn't bad. (If it was me it would be a tumble ONTO the wagon, I don't have the discipline but I guess I don't have the incentive either.) My painful fingers are crossed that you can carry on this week. I sincerely wish you well - your spirit should help the most tho! DD

Not only my positive attitude DD, it is having support from my site friends such as you that makes all the difference

    So I thank you. :P

The sun shining makes such a difference to us, doesn't it? Although, with my new diagnosis of SLE I've to keep out of the sun 8) Up here in Scotland it has been glorious for days now so everyone walking along the street looks a bit cheerier and not having faces like a bulldog chewing a wasp!

Wish me luck today as trying to think of something to do with lentils to make them exciting
Many thanks once again, Carol and keep smiling

Oh, Carola, I don't think I could manage Vegan diet, but I wish you well. My brother in law is a priest in the Church of England, and every lent and advent he goes on a vegan diet, just him, the rest of the family eat normal food and he sits at the table with ordinary food on it and a martred expression on his face.

I'm sorry, nattering on, I hope it helps you to feel better, thats something most of us would give up anything, even chocolate for! Good luck.

    Hi Carol

Well, I'm very impressed - you're inspiring me actually - think I might have to take charge of the shopping again - OH gets carried away with the "comfort foods"

Why don't lentils taste like chocolate? :? :?

Keep it up Carol, you're doin' good girl.

    Lynn xx

Mmmmm ..... no there's a thought ..... chocolate lentils! I could put vanilla pods in the lentils and pretend they are white chocolate buttons!
    Appreciate your encouragement Lynn.

Right carola, two weeks in. How goes it now? Are you getting some variety in meals, has it had any effects so far? And did you clean your flat? DD

    Hi DD

Yep, cleaned my flat and paid for it the next day with aches and pains but I felt alot better for doing it :P

This healthy wholefood, vegan malarky is getting easier as time goes on. Starting to get variety as got a fabulous wholefoods recipe book so finding I can stick to it without too much trouble!

My bloated tummy is deflating which is cool and I feel more positive than I have recently so all good!

    How are you DD?

I'm glad it's working for you, that's good. Me? Thank you for asking! Lousy. Ho-hum. Paying for a great day yesterday, and I'm flaring. The psoriasis has put in an appearance, probably due to the steroids. Can't have it all, I suppose! DD

Carol you are doing so well!

Inspirational indeed. I'm a great believer in diet. I think healthy eating is bound to have a beneficial effects for most people, wether suffering from various ailments or not.

It sounds as if you may be noticing some benefits already, and so you should, you deserve it!

As for poor DD, sorry to hear you are suffering. Sit back, have a G&T or whatever, enjoy Wimbledon (come on Andy Murray !) and to hell with the itchy bits.

Well done again Carol, I might try and follow your excellent example, but I don't think I could stick to it.

Hope you are having a better day today DD? When I have a good day and overdo it at bedtime I think oh heck, I am going to pay for this tomorrow and then I shout for Arthur to BRING IT ON, he doesn't frighten me as I know we all cope with anything that it brings!

PS: I think he heard me say this last night as Oh Boy is he having a right old tantrum on my feet and knees today ha ha!
So hopefully this means he is too busy with me today and Arthur is giving you a day's peace! xx

    Carol, what have you started?

My OH & I have been eating very healthily these last few days, not quite vegan but veggie and lots of salads. I still say 'mung beans ming' though, (not really, I love beans but it sounded funny)

My OH also dragged me out of bed this morning and while she went jogging I did a few miles on my bike. When we got back we both did 20mins on my rowing machine, and all before breakfast!

The result is the bathroom scales groan a little less when I stand on them and I do feel a little better.

Lets hope we can keep it going.
